It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Sue-- I read an opinion with a judge whose last name was "Susano" and unsurprisingly, made me think of you.

Susano is also some japanese god, I've learned through vanity Googling.

Someone just told me about reading about a french chef with my real last name.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

As appealing as fighting crime is, pop culture trivia with Pat Kiernan is EVEN MORE SO.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Oh Susano, don't you cry for me.

Oh you guys, so random. I got an email last night from one of the most popular girls in high school-- she got my email address and had been DYING to ask if it was me that she saw on some game show years ago. I know it's silly but I'm totally chuffed today.

Previously on God Stats…

>Is there any breakdown of that more than half by specific faith/sect
I can probably dig up something on that tomorrow
I lied! I can see the responses to a particular question, but I don't think I can cross-reference it with demographic data. Rats.

But I did dig into belief in creationism/ID a little, and the numbers get a bit weird. This is the best example. First, people who said they were either "very familiar" or "somewhat familiar" with _____:
Evolution: 82%
Creationism: 74%
Intelligent Design: 45%

Just to establish that they're not all horribly confused. Next, same survey, people who said that ____ was either "definitely" or "probably" true:
Evolution: 55%
Creationism: 58%
Intelligent Design: 31%

In conclusion, some people are able to have tea and no tea at the same time. I looked at some other surveys and it looks like, if you frame the question so that people have to select either evolution or creationism to describe their beliefs, responses tilt pretty strongly toward creationism. If you include an option like, "human evolution was guided by God," it evens out again.

The numbers are still depressing, but they're not... totally horrifying. I guess. Yay?
