Wash: So, two days in a hospital? That's awful. Don't you just hate doctors? Simon: Hey. Wash: I mean, present company excluded. Jayne: Let's not be excluding people. That'd be rude.

I'm so sorry to hear about Marni's death, ita. Here's wishing you and the folks at the center the best as far as comforting each other.

Thanks for all the good thoughts for my dad over the past few weeks, folks!

What is even happening?

Thirty six. Younger than I was. And she touched so many lives. I knew so many people who wanted to be famous, but I'd rather the sort of presence Marni had. Has. She touched people by hand, and she touched them for a reason. She wanted them better off as a result.

Much too young. What a beautiful tribute, ita. Again, I'm so sorry for your loss.

Stupidest problem ever: I lost a cherry tomato under the stove. Not sure how to get it out. Oops.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

There's a picture of Marni putting fist to face on the bios page. She looks fierce and cool.

I kind of used up my weekending on Thursday and Friday. Thursday spent all day with my co-editor Kim, poking around the city and discussing the CrimeBus. Friday I escorted Jen around on a vegan munchathon punctuated with bookstores and drinking. Topped off with meeting Jen's friends and collecting Emily and filling her up with alcohol until she seemed a little less stressed about her work week at the school.

I'm sure Joan Crawford would be happy to hear they are good for something.

Heh. It's going to take some contortions. I'm leery of moving it because of the gas lines. I'm not actually sure how it got under, since I have a barrier up to prevent the stove from eating cat toys.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I just noticed that not only is House premiering this week, so is Nip/Tuck! Yay fall!

I also got the full-court press from my friend who's getting married next weekend, seeing if I can take Thursday and Friday off to come up to the camp where the wedding is early. Hmmm.
