This is so nice. Having everyone together for my birthday. Of course, you could smash in all my toes with a hammer and it will still be the bestest Buffy Birthday Bash in a big long while.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Is it too early to go to sleep?

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Is it too early to go to sleep?

Not if you're tired.

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

For dinner I made chicken fettucine alfredo with asparagus, and fruit salad for dessert.

I just skipped about 1000 posts. I still don't have a job, and I get on a plane for Dragon*Con on Thursday morning, so what happens? Everyone finally starts calling and e-mailing me about jobs.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I had jalapeno albacore rolls, and tuna sushi, and yellowtail sushi, and stole some rainbow rolls, and spicy yellowtail rolls.

Swouncing

Skipping and poking head to post that, according to the Buffista Calendar, today is Jen K's birthday. I hadn't seen posts from her in quite a while, but I hope the well-wishes find their way to her, somehow.

Also, IIRC, she shares her birthday with meara, so lots of wishes for her, as well.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

People had much better dinners than I did.

Oh, and Bartle-update. Still not well. How long does food poisoning last in humans generally? This bout is kicking the poor pooch's furry backside.

Poor baby. I've noticed that for creatures that will happily seek out the most disgusting shit and consume it with great glee, they have remarkably delicate digestive systems. Bunch of little princesses, is what they are.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I love the dinner reports!

Happy birthday, meara and Jen!!

I am late for work, and I blame the weather. Stupid week of rain. Who can wake up in that?

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I think only a couple of days, at most.

If it's your average nice normal food poisoning, it should pass through the system in 24 hours, 48 tops.

If you're extra-lucky like me and end up with invasive salmonella that's complicated by a pre-existing autoimmune disorder? Week-long hospital stay! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!

In dogs, though, I have no idea. Lady always used to self-medicate by chewing on things she found in the yard.

Ann, that's a ferret.

Happy Birthdays, Meara and Jen K!

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

I still don't have a job, and I get on a plane for Dragon*Con on Thursday morning, so what happens? Everyone finally starts calling and e-mailing me about jobs.

This happened with a friend of mine- she's been pounding the pavement all summer, and then a week before she goes to Japan for 2+ weeks, all the job stuff starts up in earnest.

Happy birthdays to the sexaaaay meara and JenK!

ETA: last night I made a stirfry with chicken thigh meat, squash, and an asian green I forget the name of.
