Anyway, "sensing the time continuum" sorta' implies the ability to sense things in the past and future.

Yeah, I think that's what they're getting at, but it seems like they should have just said so plainly. Of course you can sense time! That's why everything doesn't happen at once.
Can San Franciscans sense the time continuum? Go ask passers-by and report back!
