The Monkeypants conversation is the very end of What's My Line Part II.
I'm trying to think of other romantic comedies I like that aren't Jane Austen.
The other great Willow/Oz scene is where Willow tries to seduce him with the Barry White, which is in Amends.
The ice cream scene from When She Was Bad.
I have big love for The Sure Thing, but I can't think of a specific scene that's good and romantic.
Heath Ledger holding back Julia Stiles' hair when she vomited was sweet in 10 Things I Hate About You.
Angel showing up at The Prom.
Oops--romantic, but NOT a comedy.
Oh and when Oz asks Willow out in Phases:
Oz: I'm gonna ask you to go out with me tomorrow night. And I'm kinda nervous about it, actually. It's interesting.
Willow: Oh. Well, if it helps at all, I'm gonna say yes.
Oz: Yeah, it helps. It-it creates a comfort zone. Do you wanna go out with me tomorrow night?
Willow: (cringes and slaps her hand to her forehead) Oh! I can't!
Oz: Well, see, I like that you're unpredictable.
Willow: Oh, it's just it's Buffy's birthday, and we're throwing her a surprise party.
Oz: It's okay.
Willow: But you could come. If you want to.
Oz: Well, I don't wanna crash.
Willow: No, it's fine! Well, you could be m... my date.
Oz: All right. I'm in.
Willow smiles back, and after a moment indicates she has to go. Oz nods to give her leave. She starts away, smiling widely.
Willow: (to herself) I said 'date'.
Oz and Willow's sweetness just kills me.
There's also great rom com patter in Sports Night bet. Dana/Casey, Dan/Teri Polo character, Jeremy/Natalie, and many would say, Dan & Casey.
That Buffy/Riley scene in the bookstore.
Dan/Teri Polo character
YOU MEAN REBECCA!!!! ahem.
Love, Actually is fairly full of romantic scenes. Actually, ok, this was boyfriend's suggestion, and I think he's right but there's a lot of chasing after the girl in that movie.
Is Love Actually the one with "All I Want For Christmas" in the soundtrack? Because I just heard about a wedding this past weekend where they played that. Bwuh?
YOU MEAN REBECCA!!!! ahem.
Oh! (Light bulb goes on msbelle's longstanding TV boyfriend.)
Sports Night, ep Sword of Orion:
Rebecca: You like me right now, and you love sports, and I think when you see those two things in a room together at the same time, I'm going to look a little less like what you want.
Dan Rydell: I think you're wrong.
Rebecca: I have to go back to my office.
Dan Rydell: First of all, what makes you think I like you right now?
Rebecca: Well, you follow me everywhere I go and you ask me out all the time.
Dan Rydell: You're reading way too much into that.
