Love, Actually is fairly full of romantic scenes. Actually, ok, this was boyfriend's suggestion, and I think he's right but there's a lot of chasing after the girl in that movie.
Is Love Actually the one with "All I Want For Christmas" in the soundtrack? Because I just heard about a wedding this past weekend where they played that. Bwuh?
YOU MEAN REBECCA!!!! ahem.
Oh! (Light bulb goes on msbelle's longstanding TV boyfriend.)
Sports Night, ep Sword of Orion:
Rebecca: You like me right now, and you love sports, and I think when you see those two things in a room together at the same time, I'm going to look a little less like what you want.
Dan Rydell: I think you're wrong.
Rebecca: I have to go back to my office.
Dan Rydell: First of all, what makes you think I like you right now?
Rebecca: Well, you follow me everywhere I go and you ask me out all the time.
Dan Rydell: You're reading way too much into that.
Oh, my god, Dan's whole speech about Rebecca's Wall of Pain.
16 Candles when Hotty McHunkster is waiting by his car for her after the wedding!!
see, he was my secret tv boyfriend before her character ever showed up. I swear ABC was reading my emails/posts.
anyhoo - I just looked at my top rated Romantic Comedies on Netflix...
Amelie, Funny Face, Garden State, Princess Bride, Roman Holiday, Something Wild, The American President, Beautiful Girls, Better Off Dead, Bull Durham, Sliding Doors
This is more general than what you're asking for, but I do love to analyze, so... I think for me romance on screen tends to spring from people behaving differently. When someone honest is guarded, when someone confident hesitates, when someone callous is tender, when someone glib starts stammering, when someone quiet starts babbling. It's that contrast that lets you know it's important to them. And the rest follows from that.
Strega's a very smart lady.
I watched half of Something New without sound and that's a good source, too. Plus, that dude. Who is pretty in a way I don't normally notice.
