It's a miracle: I finally got ahold of the fraud department guy at Capital One, who I've been trying to reach since JUNE about the one last fraudlent account on my credit report. The bad news is, they need me to file a police report, unlike every other bank, which just accepted my affadavit as sufficient. Eh.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY CASPER! You gorgeous girl, you!
happy birthday Caspergirl!
Don't get zombified. I'd miss you.
Awwww. Thanks! I'll reread my manager's Zombie Survival Handbook again just to be careful.
And in other, related to nothing news, the nifty fighting-AIDS-in-Africa place just called me with a job offer! It's a wee bit better salary, way better bennies, and did I mention the part where I'd get to help a group fighting AIDS in Africa? I gave him the whole "Thanks loads, and I'd like to give you an answer tomorrow" bit, but unless I hear that the company's a secret fundraising front for Rick Santorum I'm taking the offer. Woo-hoo!

Yay Calli! Amazing that a doing-good kind of place came up with a better salary. Gates money?
Yay Calli! Great news!
ION, hurricanes suck. There is so much stuff I need to do just in case when I believe this storm will be a whole lot of nothing. Blah. And people are already in long lines at the gas stations.
I really want Cuba to tear this thing apart so I don't have to spend all day tomorrow prepping. Yes, this is all about how Ernesto is inconvenient for mememe.
Math geek types might not want to look at this, as your heads might explode: The Politically Incorrect Guide to Math (bigger image of book: [link]
What your math teacher didn't want you to know:
* Numerology is a fruitful research paradigm used by a growing number of scientists and mathematicians from all over the world
* Many prestigious mathematicians are beginning to question the relevance of Pythagoras' Theorem in geometry and are being censored by Pythagorists in government positions.
* 0.99999... isn't actually equal to one
Oh, and here's something from The Politically Incorrect Guide to Science.
Science is neutral, right?
Of course it’s reliable, based on fact, unprejudiced, and trustworthy, isn’t it? Well, guess again. A lot of what passes for science these days is pseudo-science, and a lot of scientific fact is hidden from public view because it’s not politically correct.
Science has been politicized—not by the Right, but by the Left, which sees global warming, Darwinism, stem cell research, and innumerable other issues as tools to advance its agenda (and in many cases expand the reach of government).
When liberals trot out scientists with white coats, debate is supposed to be silenced. But many of the high priests of science have something to hide—from blind intolerance of religion to jealous guarding of their federally financed research budgets.

Why don't they just come out and say that they want us all to live in the middle ages?
Amazing that a doing-good kind of place came up with a better salary. Gates money?
Well, I'm currently working on an environmental health journal (lots of green-karma points, not so much with the big bucks), so better's very much a relative thing. I don't know that Gates is involved. If he isn't, we'll need to look towards changing that.
And thanks, y'all!
