Congrats, Emily.
Happy Birthday, bon bon.
Speaking of birthdays, I'm throwing a cookout on Saturday as my birthday party and they're predicting scattered thunder storms. This does not make me happy. I'm just hoping the forecast gets more favorable as the week goes on, as grilling out in the garage to avoid the rain, making mad dashes into the house with the food and trying to cram 16 people into my apartment is not so much fun.
My sister doesn't understand how I can dislike smoked salmon. Actually, it isn't just salmon--I don't like smoked anything. I even tell the office cafeteria to make sure to use plain turkey for my turkey sandwich, and not the smoked stuff they have.
Fresh grilled salmon, on the other hand? Yummers!
I don't dislike smoked salmon. I don't think. But I threw out most of the last pack I bought. Way too salt.
Strange communication: "Is this a one time query?" "Yes--it runs one time every day."
Some of my projects are more tiring than others.
Alas, I just put it in the garbage can...
YOU THREW IT AWAY?!?! You're dead to me. Alternately, you're my brunch companion so that I can have your salmon.
Salmon is one of the few seafoods I actually like. Don't think I've ever had it smoked, though.
I like salmon roe (had some nice squishy roe last night--I've just realised that I have sushi at least once a week. I'm not sure when I became that person) and, like, seared steaks, and salmon sushi.
Just...the salt.
I don't dislike smoked salmon. I don't think. But I threw out most of the last pack I bought. Way too salt.
Was it actual lox? Lox is salt-cured. Smoked salmon is now often called Nova lox.
FYI.
Lox is supposed to be salty! That is why you put it on plain things, like bagels.
(Not whitey-flavor bagels like blueberry.)
When I worked at the bagel shop, there was someone who actually ordered cream cheese and lox on a chocolate chip bagel with some regularity. I just tried not to think about it.
