My life is soooo exciting. I've been able to spend a fair amount of time this afternoon contemplating whether I should go to TJs tonight and do laundry tomorrow morning, or vice versa.
Still haven't made up my mind either.

Hmm. Wonder if that new TJ's they're building near my office has opened yet...
So.
I have put up my new curtains, and they are very pretty, and providing some much-needed shade.
I have also apparently broken my air-conditioner. I was moving a shelf of DVDs back to where they belonged (I had to move them out of the way), and I stepped on the extension cord. The AC turned itself off, and now I can't get it back on. Grrrrrr.

Is there a fuse or a breaker somewhere on the unit?
I thought that was the problem, but no, I'd just turned a power strip off. All fixed! Whew! That would not have been a good thing.
I'm probably going to go up a little early, since I will have some of the food with me, and stick around until the end so that I can help clean up. You're welcome to hitch a ride with me, but I'll make you help carry things to the apartment if you do.
I don't mind carrying things. What's the schedule again? I need to see what my relatives have in store for me on Sunday. If I'm not needed, then an extended break would be welcome.
I need to double check with the Zmayhem's, but I'll probably head up there a little after 9:30, and the shower lasts until 2:00.
A little after 9:30 sounds fine to me. Hec is off fetching Emmett so he can't voice an opinion, but IIRC neither of us has slept in past 8:30 in the past couple of weeks (well, I did sleep until 2:30 one day, but I was fighting off a cold; I'm pleased to say I slept that little bastard to death and am now just fine and an 8:30 riser again).
Also, received your gmail and shall obey.
Cindy- usually the ones who wanted to do shocking things found them on their own. I usually send students off (if they are old enough) to find their own stuff, perhaps from a book or a move, not necessarily a play. If they can't find anything, I help them. Then we work together to cut the piece into a monologue with a beginning, middle and an end-- a little play.
Now I have suggested things like a monologue from the Crucible, which I guess some people might find offensive, but I would never suggest a really good monologue that is looking back at a girl's first masturbatory orgasm, or the Philip monologue from The Lion in Winter that is about how Philip seduced Richard to have something on him with the line "What's the crown's take on boys who do with boys", although they are great monologues. Just more suited to college age.
But, some parents might find cutting a monologue from Harry Potter or Buffy offensive, but I would probably allow it. As a non-parent, I feel that part of teaching theatre or literature is perhaps to expose people to things that others might not approve of, and let them make their own decision. I would not let someone cut a monologue from Fanny Hill or the Tropic of Capricorn or the Kama Sutra or one that was really, really violent until college.

I was going to leave my place about 9:30, so I probably wouldn't get there until about 10:15 or 10:30.

Very good.
