Watching Breakfast Club on tv. It's wrong like a wrong thing what they did to the dialog. Dubbing over the swearing is one thing--but the freak-ass phrases they decide to change make me ill. You can't say, "wet dream" on tv? It's not even network--it's WE, so it's basic cable.
Scott won't even watch movies where that's been done to the dialogue. I might possibly watch
Breakfast Club
in a foreign language, or mime, so I'm sort of biased.
Best part of today was glorying in the oracle deck I've been searching for, for six years (sheesh!), that Beverly found for me here. I was going to put off buying it, just content to know where to find it...and that I was not insane in remembering it (after a while of searching, you begin to wonder). But Fela heard me talk about it...and bought it for me! I've been mooning over the incredible illustrations all day.
Sunscreen: Mexoryl. Blocks UVB and UVA. Now available in the US, so I don't have to illegally import it from Canada anymore.
I'm in love with Vichy SPF 60. It has mexoryl and it really works. Lancome used to have a tinted SPF 40 that had Mexoryl and was wonderful, btu then they changed their sunscreen line.
My good thing for the day was that my co-worker came over and offered me a ride home after work because it was raining and windy and I was horribly underdressed for the weather.
I don't generally watch movies on channels that edit for time or content. Kinda limits my options, when I don't have free Starz like I do now.
Has anyone heard of "Pants Off Dance Off" on Fuse? It's freakin' HI-LARIOUS.

The theory I have come up with is that they dubbed it back in the day when it was first going to be aired on TV, and the standards were different then, but they haven't gone back to re-jigger it.
Best thing about today: the quarts of beer in styrofoam cups they had at the bar I went to after work.

Ooh, I bought some of this last time I was in Paris! (Yes, five years ago and I remember the brand of sunscreen. It's that god.)
My good things for the day:
bessie the carpod wasn't totally dead last night, only mostly. Or maybe she just wants me to change her name to Darla.
I was able to get that aloe vera gel with Lidocaine at Target today.
This "Blast from the past" week on Big Brother is kind of cracking me up.
I'm watching that right now!
