I plugged 30.00000 in for the circumference, and 10.00000 in for the diameter, and the calculator gave me "3" as the answer for both "calculated pi" and "rounded pi". I wish I understood.
You can't have a circle with those dimensions, is the problem -- the calculator is telling you that 30/10=3, which is a completely useless piece of information that has nothing to do with Pi. (What it should really do is let you plug in either the diameter OR the circumference, and use Pi to tell you the other one.)
Egad, Plei, that baby girl of yours is unbearably cute. She looks like a real live kewpie doll. Tell me you are dressing her up as Bettie Boop for Halloween? I want to find a Max the Wild Thing costume for Isaac. It's his favorite book right now. Plus he kinda looks like Maurice Sendak drew him.
That's what I was hoping it would do, Jess. But if you only enter (for example) the circumference, it tells you the diameter is zero and both calculated and rounded pi are infinity.
I suspect the mathers are having one over on me.
I'll be over here eyerolling about the "hotness" of Africa.
I'm all for anything that offers the slightest hope of Paris Hilton travelling there and presenting the appearance of emaciated weakness to large predators.

Yeah, I noticed that too. It's an unbelievably badly coded page, in both mathy and java terms.
Paul's Page of Pi has a few different ways to calculate the extra digits.
This page lists the first few thousand of them.
My middle school had Pi written on the walls of one stairwell (this was a math/science magnet program, and the stairwell in question led to the computer lab), and so I managed to memorize the first 10-ish digits purely by osmosis. (3.1415926535897...)

Yeah, but if she gets out alive she'll just ruin some poor wee critter's life by bringing it back as her latest living handbag.

Man, I wanted one of those so bad when I was a tot. Much as I loved the good Dr., that book was my favoritest.
