Gawd, the thought of a translatlantic flight without the benefit of a laptop or iPod is just scary. Flying is a much nicer experience for me when I can watch DVDs/videos on a laptop or iPod.

Is that for here? Or overseas?
I can't tell-- it came from American Express Travel, which runs our travel department. If anyone finds out, give a shout, cuz Bob Bob is flying domestic tomorrow with his laptop.
(However, I'm OK with checking my remote control. I guess I can be without it for a couple hours.)Luddite!
::promises never to leave remote::
is the car remote control on people's keychains.
or in my case where the remote control IS my key.
If I had to travel on business right now, I would just tell my boss that i can't take a laptop. Not only do you have to check it, you can't lock your suitcase! no fucking way.
First off I should admit to not having read the source materials...
you can't lock your suitcase!
Not even the TSA-allowed locks? Which I haven't gotten around to purchasing.
I always thought they should have a bucket with the sign "Need a lighter? Leave a lighter?"
You are a genius.
The TSA press release just says no liquid/gel products. I think airlines are urging passengers to check all their luggage, or as much as possible, just to speed things up.
But UK passengers are screwed.
Strega is me. I just checked the TSA website and it specifically says that electronics such as laptops and cell phones are still okay. [link]
Couldn't find anything at all on the American Express site.
The one thing that made me want to flip off the screen on the TSA site?
"Passengers are urged to pack their patience..."

I'd print that out and take it with me to the airport.

Ha! That's like one day a couple of weeks ago when my train home was fucked up -- the platform was packed with people, and the trains were full already, too. The announcement guy says, "The train is approaching the station. All you have to do is get on it." OH REALLY??
"Passengers are urged to pack their patience..."
And then check it through to their destination.
