'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Beverly, I'm vibing at you and your family as hard as I can!

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

the authorities are a little jittery about unaccounted for crashed planes in that part of the country, if you know what I mean.
Not mentioning that you lost a plane? Not generally big on the law abiding from what I have seen.

"My mother, who is Ayn Rand, is into kinky concrete architechture."
It amuses me that most comma instructional sentences include Ayn Rand. And, occasionally, god. Mostly Ayn Rand though.

aka "The artist formerly known as Corwood Industries."

Popping in to tell David & JZ how glad I am that everything's ok. That first notice was terrifying, and I'm just glad that y'all are home and the Halloweenie is staying put for the time being.

Huge congrats to Robin, who will forever be Scrappy in my heart, and an even bigger congratulations to Robin's new husband, who'd better realize what a lucky mofo he is.

Also, very sorry to read about Tom Scola's agony. As a Deadwood fanatic, I should point out how (although it's not going to feel like it) lucky we are to live in the age of modern medicine, where people don't use words like "gleets" or die from this sort of thing.

Per last week's conversation about religion, Salon has an interesting article with Francis Collins of the Human Genome Project online today. Well worth clicking past the ads.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Our office network is down, and this seems to be the only site I can get to (and this one only sporadically). Clearly, TPTB want me to Natter instead of work. Who am I to argue with fate?

I think this weekend wins at Eventful For Buffistas - whew!! So glad that JZ & the Halloweenie are all right, and that Tom got some good painkillers, and YAY for Robin and WBBFDH!

And now, vibing hard for Beverly. Really, really hard.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Now we've really really had our collective share of time in hospitals for a while, right???

My friend R was telling me rather proudly this weekend that she's gotten quite good at the scoop-up-toddler-and-teenager-and-race-to-the-er routine. I pointed out to her I'd really prefer they weren't so familiar with the place. (Incidentally, the latest run, last week? Her husband collapsed. Kidney stones.)
