move out and draw fire

Cute kid indeed!

And I'm sorry about mis-reading "recital" as "rectal." I think Word is getting to me.

The spouse of a Congressional rep doesn't know about exchange rates?!?

Nope. And the way she spat the word "tax" was sort of funny, given where the money is coming from to pay for her jaunt here. (Including that €218).

It just keeps getting better. They decided that rather than touring the Plaka and seeing the Acropolis, they'd go back to the hotel. But they didn't tell anyone, least of all the escort and security detail waiting for them at the Plaka. It's not a lot of effort; everybody's got all the phone numbers, and all one of the lordlings has to do is wave his hand and say, "Someone notify the escort."

And they are still bitching about not being allowed to break crockery. There's a dinner for them tonight, 90 guests representing about 85% of the wealth of Greece. Not multi-millioniares; billionaires. If the DH and I go (unlikely), it would be the single most expensive meal I've ever had. The CODEL wants to see some village dances, and maybe we could get one of those guys to play one of those guitar-thingys?

"We are a simple people, sahib. We sing, we dance. (Arrange for a power outage in the capital.)" t /Doonesbury

I'm kind of hoping they get drunk and start busting china. It would fit with the "Yo, Blair!," molesting-the-German-Chancellor style of US foreign policy.

What is even happening?

I want my evil, rich Republicans to be old money, with some finesse. Is that too much to ask?

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Boggles. No words, just no words, Raq.

Raq - I just...wow.

~ma to all.

Somehow my coffee seems to have been extra loaded this morning. I feel like my body is zinging everywhere and yet my brain is still slugish.

GRONK.

Home health care is hard, and does not necessarily involve lots of sleep.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Good thing about having one of our state representatives resign because of that golf trip to St. Andrews with Jack Abramhof is that I'm pretty sure Raq isn't talking about one of my congressional reps. /hoping

So this morning, I've been feeling as close to a nervous breakdown as I have in a long time. I've taken the kids to a sitter and I'm going to try to decompress. And call my doctor.

{{{Sean}}} You're one great example of what love really means.

Because books.

{{{Cashmere}}} What happened?

{{{Sean}}} You're a prince, you know.

Raq, I'm still boggling. I think it's a good thing I don't work in diplomacy or government or anything remotely close.

Back from a long, long weekend with a lot of driving -- north of Syracuse to southeastern PA to West Virginia and back again. Thursday to Tuesday. Too much of having my ass planted in a car, that's for sure. The reunion was nice, though.
