Sweetie, we're crooks. If everything were right, we'd be in jail.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Good response from your landlord, P-C. The apology was worth sending, and Teppy's editing was great.

Nice bag, Fay (and portentous city it's being sent from, heh!). Did you email the seller and ask, Please sir or madam, would you be so kind as to post the dimensions in (Fays' preference of cms or inches)? And also, the photos don't show very clearly and it's not included in the description whether the bag has a single shoulder strap or two, and is to be worn as a backpack. Thank you so much, and in future it would be appreciated if every freakin' seller would remember that potential buyers are not mindreaders, and that elementary information like dimensions, and type of material can be useful towards deciding whether or not one wants to own the stuff you're selling.

Sorry. Hot button.

JZ dear, would you mind if I took a look at your drawings?

Brief StE update: His fever's down, they've found the position he's most comfortable in, his ICP is down from 40 this morning when they were trying to switch his nasal breathing tube to one in his mouth, to 4 this evening when he was comfortable and nobody was "messing with him." There's little to no change in consciousness level, which is not unexpected. There's no way to gauge whatever damage he's sustained, we'll just have to wait.

I hate waiting.

Beverly, so glad the fever's down. The waiting has to be so hard. Much love headed your way, and healing thoughts for StE.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

{{{Bev}}} You are handling this beautifully. There is so much strength in you. {{{{{}}}}}

How're DH and StY holding up?

StY blames himself because it was his scooter, which is stupid and he knows it, so he's working on it. H is just mad. He's angry and nowhere to put it, but he's dealing pretty well. I've had to let him talk and rant it out, and he's had to let me sit in a corner and stare and know that I'm not really withdrawing, it's how I deal--as being Mr. Rantypants is how he deals.

And we appreciate your thoughts and prayers more than we can say. I know the combined energy of the Buffistas is powerful stuff, and it's bolstered me, so I have each of you to thank for being strong.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

JZ dear, would you mind if I took a look at your drawings?

The vintage art? I think this link should work, I think. I'm all snarly that everything but the Little Nemo pictures seems to be coming out at such a low resolution it's basically unprintable, no matter how I set the scanner. I feel like an idiot. But, anyhow, they're very pretty to look at on the screen.

Still vibing so very, very hard for StE and his recovery, StY and his guilt, H and his anger, and your quiet upset. Just all of you. Vibes and (non-intrusive, non-invasive) hugs and punctuation.

Ah, JZ, hugs from this bunch would never be either intrusive nor invasive.

I've forgotten protocol--does one bring up LJ here? All of you who backed up my bristling at the definitely intrusive, invasive, unwanted visitor yesterday are so very much my favorite people. If I had the energy I'd thank each and every one of you, but I don't, so I'm doing it collectively, here.

And those drawings are beautiful. I've owned children's books with brittle, yellowing pages and illustrations like those. I scolded a sales clerk at a used bookstore for putting illustrated pages from a children's book for sale by page in a basket on the checkout table. But when he assured me the book had literally disintegrated and these were all that could be saved, I was mollified.

H used to amuse himself painting Santa and Father Christmas figurines. An avid model-builder and a stickler for fine detail, he enjoyed painting tiny wheels on the toys in Santa's pack, and buttons on the children's shoes. So when I found a beautiful Rackham Father Christmas with fairies illo in the basket, in blues and greys rather than the usual Yuletide colors, I bought it and had it mounted in a carved silver-leafed frame. He loved it.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Oh, Bev, all the hugs in the world to you and yours. I am behind in LJ land, but I suspect I will be bristle for you when I catch up.

move out and draw fire

I've been able to Photoshop some of those illos up to a better level, JZ (from the first batch; I haven't looked at the new ones yet). Normally it's tough because if the data isn't there, Photoshop's not going to find it, but with the b/w stuff I can pretty well fill it in.

I've also scoured the nets for Howard Pyle stuff, so now that the full moon is just over and I'm in my maxi-creative phase I hope to dink with these shirts more.

H is just mad. He's angry and nowhere to put it, but he's dealing pretty well.

As the "Raising Toddlers for Fun and Profit" books tell me, anger is despair that's too big to deal with any other way. I can see his point.

But! Sounds like things continue to move in the right direction. Hugs and strength~ma to you, Bev.

I need to find that pessimism study, or the book billytea linked to, for my DH.

And, I lust for the slim design and portability of a laptop, but man do I hate using them. The three main things I do on a computer are websurf, game, and graphics, and I just can't do the last two on a laptop.
