Big stop just to renew your license to companion. Can I use companion as a verb?

Spike's Bitches 31: We're Motivated Go-getters.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Ah, JZ, hugs from this bunch would never be either intrusive nor invasive.

I've forgotten protocol--does one bring up LJ here? All of you who backed up my bristling at the definitely intrusive, invasive, unwanted visitor yesterday are so very much my favorite people. If I had the energy I'd thank each and every one of you, but I don't, so I'm doing it collectively, here.

And those drawings are beautiful. I've owned children's books with brittle, yellowing pages and illustrations like those. I scolded a sales clerk at a used bookstore for putting illustrated pages from a children's book for sale by page in a basket on the checkout table. But when he assured me the book had literally disintegrated and these were all that could be saved, I was mollified.

H used to amuse himself painting Santa and Father Christmas figurines. An avid model-builder and a stickler for fine detail, he enjoyed painting tiny wheels on the toys in Santa's pack, and buttons on the children's shoes. So when I found a beautiful Rackham Father Christmas with fairies illo in the basket, in blues and greys rather than the usual Yuletide colors, I bought it and had it mounted in a carved silver-leafed frame. He loved it.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Oh, Bev, all the hugs in the world to you and yours. I am behind in LJ land, but I suspect I will be bristle for you when I catch up.

I've been able to Photoshop some of those illos up to a better level, JZ (from the first batch; I haven't looked at the new ones yet). Normally it's tough because if the data isn't there, Photoshop's not going to find it, but with the b/w stuff I can pretty well fill it in.

I've also scoured the nets for Howard Pyle stuff, so now that the full moon is just over and I'm in my maxi-creative phase I hope to dink with these shirts more.

H is just mad. He's angry and nowhere to put it, but he's dealing pretty well.

As the "Raising Toddlers for Fun and Profit" books tell me, anger is despair that's too big to deal with any other way. I can see his point.

But! Sounds like things continue to move in the right direction. Hugs and strength~ma to you, Bev.

I need to find that pessimism study, or the book billytea linked to, for my DH.

And, I lust for the slim design and portability of a laptop, but man do I hate using them. The three main things I do on a computer are websurf, game, and graphics, and I just can't do the last two on a laptop.

That's a good archive. Mostly funny stuff, though a few things threw in references for games I've never played. This one, however rings very true to me. That game once reduced me to tears trying to build a friggin' car.

Edit: to make the link a link, and not italics. I plead distractedness.

I can identify far too many of the products in this picture.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

everyone's links go to odd pages. puttui.

I just spent lots of time on the phone with DH - one of the things I like about him being away is the long ramblin' phone conversations. Sadly, even though i sent DH to bed, I 'm not sure I wanna go to bed. my brain wants to be awake. silly brain

What is even happening?

Beverly, I'm glad StE's fever is down.

I think the only time people worry about that is when it's back channel-y sorts of stuff. This topic was a personal one, and it's your journal, and your right to bring it up. I'm so sorry that happened to you. I can't imagine visiting without a call first, unless I knew for sure I was wanted, and expected.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Ok, I want everyone to go back to Fay's eBay listing and make note of the city the backpack is located is in.

Oh, that's fantastic!

(I must confess, though, that it isn't THAT specific bag I have. The bag I have arrived yesterday, from a UK seller - that was just the first pic that came up when I googled to show y'all my booty. No, not that booty. God, you people!)

It is a very nice bag. I think I shall test drive it today.
