Spike's Bitches 31: We're Motivated Go-getters.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Dogs, otoh - well, we have a new rule in our house. To wit: if you want me to take seriously the grave security threat that has you barking like Stalin was at the door with an axe, you might want to get up off you damn dog bed to do it. Seriously, yo. Do you not see how you're undermining your own case.
Brenda, clearly that was only threat level one. .. a plastic bag floating past th e window, a slammed door - something like that.
Hec, I'm glad she's doing better. msbelle and I were gonna call, but I see her phone's off, so we will either try later or tomorrow. Poor bored JZ!
msbelle is here with me, and we have gotten SO much done today. My kitchen and dining room are completely settled, all my books are shelved, and almost all the pictures are hung. So exciting!
Now I think I need a snack of fruit.
yay for winning with the EDD! I just got mail back from them , based on all the paper i sent them they decided , quite rightly I might add, that i did not get overpaid! so I owe them zip!
So glad JZ is improving!
My cat has been obnoxious. I started feeding her canned food as a treat (because she's old and I figure I should spoil her some) and now she meows loudly and at length when ever there is dry food in her dish. She's also evidentally decided that canned cat food means she deserves to have water fresh from the faucet and she's been pacing in the bathroom and jumping up on the toilet and meowing. The idea of locking her in the laundry room is starting to sound very appealing to me.
My mother said "when your book comes out," today.
Sometimes I wish she wouldn't do that, though she was trying to be all 'living well is the best revenge" but I maybe can write a page and a half a week now. I think she doesn't quite have to clear room on the shelves, and besides I'm the memorex of writers. She's already read my book. So have I because I have zero original thoughts.
Thanks so much for all the -ma and the calls and good wishes. I was telling Hec last night that thinking about the Buffistas made me think about the young wife's final monologue in
Angels in America,
where she talks about flying to San Francisco and seeing all the people who have passed on shimmering through the air around the airplane, joining hands and making a shield of themselves for all the scared, sad, sick people still walking around on the ground.
Not that any of y'all are passed on, but I felt the floaty hands and the loving wishes shielding me and the Halloweenie, all around us. So thank you all, so much.
All continues well, except that I'm now here through Monday morning at least. And my ass is all sore and cranky from excessive bedrest and the steroid injections. But I'm okay and the Halloweenie is vigorous and steadily heartbeaty and the placenta is staying put for now, so yay.
Brief post 'cause this keyboard is all rubbery and weird and sucks.
JZ!!! It is so wonderful to see you posting. I have been thinking about you all day. Tons of stay-put~ma to the Halloweenie.
JZ, it makes me so happy to hear from you! I'm glad they're taking good care of you, even if it involves needles, cuz, maybe the Weenie will decide she doesn't want you to have anymore shots and will knock off trying to renovate her abode until she's damn well out here with the rest of us!
Oh, neat sculptures, Tep. I am tickled by the locust and daddy-longlegs living on the one. Bummer about the hives.
We have that rule, too, brenda. Lying down while barking, I'm not gonna check it out.
Yay for Hec's unemployment money reawardment! And yay for vw and msbelle's productive day, very cool! And beth's not owing money! Yay!
That's hard to believe, erika, but even if the "zero original thoughts" is true, I know just from reading your posts here that your presentation is all you and that's why I'd buy your book. Sorry it's going slowly at the moment.
I just woke up from an 1.5 hour nap, if that even still qualifies as a nap. No idea why that happened, but it was apparently quite necessary.
jz, I'm so happy that you and the 'Weenie are doing well and I hope that the time passes quickly so you can be safe in your own home again.
