B.J. immediately after the final shot of the final episode of M*A*S*H, all lost and alone in the empty camp after everyone else has left
I *sobbed* at the end of that episode. A friend of mine was a huge M*A*S*H fan, too, and the phone rang as the credits rolled. I picked it up and it was her. We cried together for about five minutes before saying anything.
I have this sad vision of you like B.J. immediately after the final shot of the final episode of M*A*S*H, all lost and alone in the empty camp after everyone else has left, in this in-between space where one huge story is over and the next hasn't started yet.
Lump. Throat.
Thanks.
{{{{Fay}}}} Glitter and chocolate to you (glitter is easy to pack and chocolate - consumable, baby!)
Happy Birthday Plei!
Very happy to read good news Gud. I hope it was a wonderful father’s day for you.
Good luck on the apartment vw. I have taken a hair dryer to a frozen A/C unit. Then again we get quite desperate about these things here.
{{Fay}} Every time I made a move (past life) I was so excited about the new adventure and so upset to be leaving the comfort of the moment. Ease of transition ~ma to you in heavy dosage.
::hands Fay some chocolate...hell, LOTS of chocolate::

Bangkok is just the next great adventure for you.

A little weeping over the closed door is surely okay. But yay open door!
Yay for Gud!
Happy birthday to Plei!
The gronk, she is mighty.
Happy Birthday, Plei!

Gud, it was great to read your good news. I hope she's feeling better, too. If that makes sense.
vw, good luck with the apartment hunting -- I hope it's a little bit fun for you. Since I'm generally a nosy wench, I like looking, but it's harder when the decision is yours, and it's not all in fun.
That's great news, Gud. I'll keep all my digits crossed for you and your family. We love modern chemistry.
I'm sorry, Fay. It's funny, when you were first talking about going off on other international adventures, I remember thinking, "But why isn't she doing them with her flatmate?" - because it was obvious you had both gotten so close.
But I totally get the letting-go-of-stuff. You're choosing and exercising your freedom now, and non-attachment is not just the Buddhist path to enlightenment. It's how it has to be. For now, anyway.
At some point, in some country you'll have a perfectly adorable little Fay cottage done up slightly mad and thoroughly fab with kittens in your garden where you can take tea.
I can imagine a Fay cottage - kitties, shinies, and lots of books. And probably low ceilings, so if Pete comes to visit he won't be able to loom properly.
