[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

The status is NOT quo.

Gronklies, all.

We just had a lovely dinner and dessert with Jilli & Pete and Plei & DH and TICKYBOX, who is every bit as cute and even more than her pictures. The weather has been sunny and cool (mid 70's! I'm in heaven!), and the cold that I told to go away actually listened to me and went away. It's been a really nice day. Now I am a sleepy Kristin and must sleep.

But Jilli! And Pete! And Plei and DH and Tickybox! Huzzah!

move out and draw fire

Not to be to unspecifically scary, but good biopsy-results-ma, please? And possibly some problem-going-away-ma?

I'd ask for credit-card-ma also, but I don't think any power in the 'verse can stop my bank from shutting my card down every three months because someone in Greece is using it OMG!!!

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I can't believe the same Identity Thief keeps stealing your card number over and over again!

Much 'ma to you.

Mostly lurking...

Sorry. I had to skip. But I want to let you all know that I'm gonna be on vacation until Tuesday and will have no internet access (Oh! The horrors!). Hope you all have a good weekend!

What is even happening?

Raq, only health to you, no scariness. Now. The bank thing is so ridiculous.

vw, enjoy your vacation.

We had a Naval honor guard graveside, at dad's funeral, as well as the piper. They did the gun thing and we had them give the flag to Ben, which only made all the eyes wetter. It was so cold, and I remember thinking they must be freezing, and they looked about 10 years old. I can't remember if there was Taps. I think there must have been, but I was just at my friend's brother's funeral in May, and I keep remembering Taps from his burial, when I try to remember dad's.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Peace~ma for Teppy and family.

My dad used to sing Taps every now and again in the evening. It would have killed me if they'd have thought to play it at his funeral.

ETA: all kinds of ~ma to Raq.

Our wings are not tired.

All the ~ma ya need Raq. Banks are idiotic.

Apparently we are between two big fires and Redding is "base" for all the out of town fire fighters.

This could make for attractive scenery. IJS The fire fighters, not the fires. Fire bad. Fire fighters pretty. Well, fire pretty too, but not so much forest fires.

Enjoy the vacation vw!

Have fun Kristin & ND!

It's raining. My fireplace chimney leaks. Knocking it down and building a new one is on the list. The rain is peaceful. I wanted to stay in bed, but I am still enjoying the sounds while sitting here kinda working.

Tep, if Ballad of the Green Berets was special to him, I say go for it, dignity be damned. (My dad had The Maple Leaf Forever played at my mom's service, which to be honest would probably have made her cringe, but mostly in that "what an incredibly loving and yet completely embarrassing thing to do" sort of way.)

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Much health~ma to you, Raq.

Steph, I hope the funeral and family interactions go as well as possible. I expect we'll be playing "Amazing Grace" at my Mom's funeral, eventually, too. It's a beautiful hymn.

Ann, that's a ferret.

My maternal grandmother wanted me to sing her favorite hymn ("Just As I Am") at her funeral. But I took her death (I was 17 at the time)pretty hard and was in no shape to sing in public. Even so, most of the family had to work until about 2 hours before the funeral to talk me out of it.
