you never can tell P-C about apartments. one of my neighbors is a landlord - and just picky about his tenets. He saw about 15 people for his last apt - Went with the 13th person - because this person fit the criteria- looking for room for one. ( this was an older person looking for a place to small for her kids to try and move in ) So you can't always tell. I am guessing your very polite demeanor gives you points in rental arena.
and I live in a very interesting neihgborhood. I walked a mile with a sabre saw no one even asked a question . ( I borrowed it from a friend for our bookshelves)
the theme music from Monty Python's Flying Circus
The Liberty Bell March!
Sorry, I have a compulsive need to identify it whenever possible. Carry on.

And the fact that I'm a young professional and not a student. Although he's not against grad students, at least, since they're the reason he keeps the rent low. I'm hoping and guessing the other two applicants are crazy undergrads.
P-C, that apartment is in a neighborhood that's become much better over the years a la gentrification, so there are some good places to eat. Good luck.
Teppy, lots of ~ma to you and yours.
I am now back from conventions, vacations and interviews. My desk is piled high with mail, my email inbox has 300 unread messages still (I got back to work yesterday), and we've had people in to interview for open positions here yesterday and today. Um, yay for free lunch?
Depends-- what are you having?

We always take people to the Women's Faculty Club. It's not very exciting eats-wise, but it is a Julia Morgan building.
Welcome back Sparky1!
young professional should beat grad student
the internet, email, cell phones, etc has spoiled me. I expected instant 'good for you' for finding the a saw to borrow. but , so far nothing. This work stuff DH does gets in the way.
How were the interviews, etc., Sparky? And welcome home.
I feel very close to you right now, Frankenbuddha, my brother in exclamatory March King identification.
I don't really know what a sabre saw is, so I'm picturing beth walking around with a sword.
