[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Embrace the idea that we are the leaders we've been looking for. Grace Lee Boggs

It looks like a great book. I'll have to see if my local library has it.

Finding a woman dead in a park (within the last two months) two blocks from a really nice apartment is reason enough not to take the apartment, right?

Er...did YOU find the dead woman, vw? Was she dead of murder?

I mean, I moved into this apartment a week after a drive-by killed someone across from it. But since then, there's been nothing like that. It's a very convenient location, and a great apartment.

OTOH, death is ungood.

if it tweaks you, sure. How did she die? Is this Roslindale?

Me, it would depend on the circumstances of death. If it was natural, then it wouldn't bother me. Grisly murder? I'd move on. OD? I don't know, I guess I'd have to investigate if the park is junkie territory.

No. And yes.

Is this Roslindale?

Nope. This one's on "the wrong side of the tracks" in JP. It's HUGE, but under renovation, so I can't totally picture it done. But, I think it will be nice. If he has it done on time, that is.

Nah...too many ifs.

I'd be more likely to not take it because it's not finished, and that shit ALWAYS gets effed up. A neighborhood murder sort of gilds the lily on that decision.

The way increasing murder rate in Boston is totally INSANE and awful and tragic.

I know. It really is.

Actually, I too am more likely not to take it because of the not being finished thing too. I mean, I was just telling Emily that there's *nothing* in the kitchen right now. No cabinets. No appliances. Nothing.

Oh, and it's on the first floor, which I'm not thrilled about.

But, it is huge. Actually, it kind of reminds me of Victor and thessaly's place.

Apropos of nothing, I'm listening to medleys of Broadway musicals (My Fair Lady, Camelot, Gigi, so far), and I keep bursting into tears. That can't be normal, can it? There aren't even any lyrics, but I pretty much know the lyrics (except for Gigi), so I guess that doesn't matter.

And vw, a not finished, first floor apartment in a not good neighborhood where someone was murdered nearby doesn't seem like a keeper to me, even if it's big. Of course, my judgment may be off now (see the crying thing above).

I am so overwhelmed. I just counted and realized I have 30 skirts. Actually I have more than that. 36 in the house. Two of them are already in the "get rid of" pile. One goes with my interview suit, so I am not counting it. And three I haven't yet taken the tags off of, nor taken out of the shopping bags (not allowing myself to, until I've winnowed a bit). And that doesn't even get into the number of sweaters/shirts/pants...formal dresses...

Woe to the fucking wicked.

And Meara succeeds in making me feel much better about my own need to weed out clothes. Rather than skirts, though, my thing is shirts.
