I know, world in peril and we have to work together. This is my last office romance, I'll tell you that.

Spike's Bitches 31: We're Motivated Go-getters.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

What is even happening?

vw, Girly TMI

I got my period 7/1, had it for seven or eight days (typical for me), then got it again on the 14th and had it for another week. I'm suspecting Ovulating Demons at this point. I'm not, however, on the Ring. Just the rag. Perpetually.

I'm just holding my breath now.

Now tagless for your comfort.

I did manage to get to see Labyrinth on Sunday afternoon and it was just as beautiful as I remembered. Even the parts that I didn't especially like (the weird Fiery Creature Dance in the middle which I felt totally cut the film in half and the doofusy goblin battle at the end) worked ok.

I was glad to see that David Bowie's acting in it was superb. I'm hard pressed to know if it's just his skill or that he was basically playing himself. He was over the top when he needed to be but most of the time, he was silky smooth with a menancing edge. And so. fuckking. pretty.

Jennifer Connelly's acting was still raw--I daresay she was cast for her wide-eyed beauty. But you could definitely see her potential.

The Bog of Eternal Stench still makes me laugh like a loon. Yes, I'm twelve.

I am about to fall asleep at my desk. I have no idea how I'm going to make it through the rest of today.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

TOTALLY agree on "Chilly Down" (so stupid), but I do have a weakness for slapstick, which is all the goblin battle is.

(Yes, I know all the songs. hugs cliche tight.)

Embrace the idea that we are the leaders we've been looking for. Grace Lee Boggs

Personally, I have a terrible time trying to name pets.

Me too, Cass. I come up with the best names, but it's cheating because they're all stolen from other people's pets. I've been so impressed with Buffistas' pets' names. I swear that Kittenish and Puppycat would work perfectly for mine. The one that would be Kittenish would also make a good Bastet and her actual name, Freya, works well for her. She is such a catlike cat.

I cry that they were already named when I got them, though, and really too old to change their names, because the one that would be Puppycat is Rocky. This name is perhaps appropriate but is no where near as fun as Puppycat. I must admit, I occasionally whisper Puppycat to him, telling myself that I'm using it as an endearment rather than a name, so it's ok.

It would have worked better for me in marathon. This should be the only way I watch shows. This one bit a week with the occasional month long break doesn't work for me anymore.

Wrod. There are several shows that I was meh about when aired, that I adore on DVD. This includes Firefly, but I blame the out of order thing for that one. I love it with such a pure, true love that I can't imagine that I wouldn't have loved it still, were it shown in order. I do see that this type of watching isn't best for all shows. I've noticed that some rely on that break for pacing and appropriate tension. For example, I liked B5, but I think I would have appreciated it more had I watched it one ep per week. Not that I could wait that long for the next ep when I had it on DVD. I have the self control of a two year old.

Oooooo! Cindy! I've been meaning to tell you. We're gonna be up in your neck of the woods (I think) tomorrow! We're going to this: >[link] What a fun way to celebrate your birthday! I haven't seen any serious shows there, since I saw Romeo and Juliet, when I was in high school, you know, back when the author was still alive. I have been chaperone for school fieldtrips there, for the past couple of years, for Julia and Chris's class (Children's plays: Miss Nelson is Missing and Lily's Purple Plastic Purse). They put on a great show. It's theatre-in-the-round, and very intimate. I think you'll have a great time.

I'm probably about halfway between you and it. Wave, when you're on the highway!

Oh! So you can boss me, but I can't boss you! I see how you are.

Will do! I'm very excited. My little brother is flying into town early so he can go with. He's being very sweet and cute. Then, this weekend is our big family vacation in the White Mountains in NH. So, once I can get all this packing done, things will be very nice.
