What is even happening?

If that's what it takes to meet you in person...

Dear Owen and Olivia,

Sometimes, when two people love each other very much they have a special way of showing it. But sometimes, people have just had a lot to drink, and well sometimes, they're floozies.

Love,
Auntie Cindy

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Oh, and next week on David Attenborough's Planet Earth: Caves! This is going to rock so seriously hard.

Ooh! I have a friend who's a serious caver. I should tell him about this. (Altho, prolly already knows.)

Hahah! That's AWESOME, Cashmere!! Go you. And go DH.

I can have sex with anyone that's sexy and hasn't grossed me out yet.

Yeah, see, that's why I'm much more likely to make out with people I don't know--if I don't know them, I can take the few things I knwo about them and fill out the rest in my mind--assume that they're smart and cool and all that. If I know them, I know when they're not. :)

I am SO ANNOYED. I went to do laundry...put my stuff in the washers. OK, a little bit of a faux pas to use all three washers, but whatever. So all the dryers are empty. I go down to put my stuff in the dryers, and it's got a minute left...and this woman walks in, and puts stuff in TWO of the three dryers!! While my wash has one minute left to go!! AND THEN, she doesn't have enough cash for one of the dryers, so puts her stuff in, then runs out and comes back!! I was SOOOOO TEMPTED to throw her stuff out of the second dryer while she was gone (but there wasn't time). Damn!! Now I have two loads of laundry sitting there wet, not just for a few minutes, but for a whole dryer time!! She SAW there was only a minute left on my wash! GEEEEZ. GRRRRRRRRRRRR. (I need to get over this, but if I run into her when I go to put it in, I will be very tempted to punch her, so I need to vent)

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

I have kitty stress because the poor boos are just sweltering.

Cass, run a washcloth under cold water, wring it out, and then wipe the kitties down. They will be a bit cross about it at first, but it'll will help them a lot.

The status is NOT quo.

What Jilli said, Cass. Also, fill a couple of old 2-liters full of water, freeze them, wrap a light cloth around them, and leave them on the floor. Our friend Cricket does that for her bunnies and claims it makes a huge difference. Kitties can snuggle up to the frozen 2-liters and cool down.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Mmmm, I'm experimenting with a drink called the Aviation.

It's tasty on a hot day.

Gin, lemon and lime juice, Marschino liqueur. Shake well over ice and then in a martini glass. Very cool and crisp and tart, but the Maraschino keeps it from being too sour.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I'm sorry so many folks are sweltering. I don't think NC's really been outside of the norm for July, but the norm is high 90s and high humidity. But today it got down to around 80. Bliss!

I'm not going to rule out sex with someone I've only known an hour, but it seems highly unlikely. I usually don't know until the sixth or seventh time I've interacted with someone that they have the slightest interest in me.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Not Cass, but I just tried the washcloth thing with Ozzie and Perkins, and they seemed to appreciate it, even though Perkins took some convincing.

I will have to see if I have any empty 2-liters for tomorrow.

Thrive to spite them

Mom and I both put ice in our cat's water dishes.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Cass, run a washcloth under cold water, wring it out, and then wipe the kitties down. They will be a bit cross about it at first, but it'll will help them a lot.
Excellent idea. Thank you. And yes, quite cross. But it's good for them.

I have my ice packs out for them to be near as well. Thanks, Kristin.

And ice in the water. Yesterday I iced some tuna juice for Kittenish to drink.

We're at 99. By about nine tonight I should be able to open the windows.

3.0 and my exBF were a one-night stand as well. Just one that started six years ago and now includes being married. I suspect if they have kids, I won't be allowed to tell them this either.
