Man, the Big Lebowski cracks my shit UP.
"I don't fucking roll on Shabbos!"
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I haven't seen Big Lebowski. This is not right.
Also not right, the sticking spacebar.
Currently in Otter Lake, NY 64.0 °F / 17.8 °C and raining. Forecast for the next few days. Highs in 70's. Lows in 50's and 60's. So very not Florida. Whee!
I'm hanging on the front porch drinking coffee and reading my book. Trogdor and Brandy by my side. DH is next door trying to make our wireless pass through the trees to Mom's house. Step-dad will be ever so grateful to not use dial-up.
Crazy long list of work to do on the new place. We rented a dumpster. The chimneys need to be knocked down and replaced. Toilet needs to go, shed needs a new roof. The 2 previous hot water heaters that were in the shed tossed in the dumpster. DH is asking why we didn't just continue to visit relatives and actually do vacation stuff. Nope, I had to buy my own place.
Safe travels Emily. I know the SFistas will take good care of you.
Enjoy the pampering pedicure vw. Good to hear that J is doing better.
The Emily is on her way. Now I must get to planning for some help when she arrives in San Francisco. That took five of us. And, while it's harder to pack than unpack, it will probably be easier if it's more than just Emily and Lee.
ice cube tray emptied and refilled (7)
all windows closed, shades/curtains drawn.
fans repositioned.
before I go to work I will turn off my computer - which is odd , but dh is running saws today - so we need to watch the power use ( our house only has 70 amps comming in )
In nonheat news - there are three shelvels in our new book case.I can'tt put books in 'til we get it in place - but it is getting closer.
back to heat news. so glad I get to go to work where there is AC.
Hec, is that an invite? Because some things really are more fun with two people. Yeah, the right-wingers are the unhappiest sore-sport winners ever. At least when we win we can be happy about it. I'm missing my ex-roommate T. We used to hang out a lot but now I've not gotten any e from her in three or four months...I suspect this may be a Bad Sign for her in some way.
Fay, you are a good woman, looking after the neighbor and visiting your grandmother, and giving your mother a respite like that.
Oh, no, I'm really not. Seriously. Thus my 'pat me for doing a Good Thing' post. But my parents have been touring around the Baltics for a week, so someone had to do the deed.
On which note - today's surprise purchase?
A second hand copy of Stonewall: 25 - a book of Essays by LGB activists/writers. Purchased for 10p from my grandmother's nursing home. I picked it up because it was a Mysterious Book, covered entirely with holographic stickyback wrapping paper. Whether this was to hide the dirty badwrong LGBness, or to keep the cover clean and tidy, I really don't know. But - 10p!
Hey my geeklings, did you know you could Download the music from Grim Fandango? (Swankiest, most stylish game ever.)
Fay, did you ever see Star Maidens?
This may be why when I did an anonymous poll on LJ, the median number of partners was 10, as opposed to the government-tell-us FOUR
Alas, I am one of the ones at the opposite end of the scale that make the government estimates likely true. Sigh.
Much moving ~ma vw, and even though she likely won't see it until she's done, cross-country driving ~ma to Emily!
It's noon and overcast. I've been up for a few hours, but have done nothing productive and am absolutely full of gronk. I just have to get things done today, because tomorrow a friend is turning 21, and the party is going to take up all of my non-church time.
Heh. Well, libkitty, it's OK, i do know plenty of people with numbers much smaller than 10! I just thought four sounded low--the men's number was listed as "6 to 8", which I thought sounded much more plausible.
In other news, I'm really hoping this cake I just made is OK. I made two 9" yellow cake rounds, put the first one down, pricked it, poured in some triple sec, covered it in sliced strawberries, put on whipped cream, put on the second layer, and covered the whole thing in whipped cream (whipped with a little powdered sugar and some more triple sec...and some pink food coloring just for fun). It's for a friend's surprise birthday party tonight...
