Tom and I have gotten my almost-4-year old nephew's birthday present together! My sister says "he's into bugs." So we got him this:

And a couple books about bugs: I'm A Pill Bug! and the Icky Bug Alphabet Book.
Though, the slacker dude at the MIT Coop cracked me up when I explained to him what I wanted: "Have you considered just sending him a big box of bugs?"
Tom braved Toys R Us for the habitat. Brave man.
Anyway, I'm excited. He's at an age where cool stuff is not wasted on him!

Long day. The funeral was predictably very sad. She was such a wonderful woman, it was difficult to say good-bye to her. Her nephew gave a beautiful eulogy.
The good part of the day was taking a long nap at my mother's air conditioned house before coming home. Bed soon; my landlord is coming way too early tomorrow morning with someone who is going to try to figure out where the roof is leaking.

The Pill Bug book makes me happy because it is a slightly bizarre translation of a slightly bizarre Japanese book, which may 'splain the difference in terminology. It's got everything from poop to maggots!
