We called them potato bugs. Though I can't imagine why.

Spike's Bitches 31: We're Motivated Go-getters.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
The Pill Bug book makes me happy because it is a slightly bizarre translation of a slightly bizarre Japanese book, which may 'splain the difference in terminology. It's got everything from poop to maggots!

Leta, re your actual post: Headhunters?
See, that's what I was thinking, but I think they operate more the other way around, i.e. finding employees for businesses. Not sure if they do much in the other direction. It doesn't seem to help much when I google.

Though I can't imagine why.Neither can I. We need the explanatory hivemind to 'splain to us.

Awesome gifts, Nora! We always called them roly-polies, though I was told by my mom that they were also called potato bugs (though when I think of potato bugs I picture something bigger with pincers that is altogether scarier) and pill bugs. They are kind of shapd like potatos, I guess. And pills. And, of course, they roll.
Took the recycling to my car. In jammies.
Yay! I was hoping for that outcome.
