I am disgusted at my commute and my general life right now, but it is all tied in with the shittiness that is the MBTA.
Wrody McWrod Wrod on that. I swear the rush hour trains I usually take (either the 5:55 or the 6:10) haven't left on time in weeks. Any time there's a huge crowd of people on the platform at North Station when I walk in I know the trip is going to suck hard (and that at least one car on the train is going to have "issues").
I have to skip to the end to share my joy at HAVING MY COMPUTER BACK!!! ::happy dance::
Now I can go catch up with threads at my leisure.
My 80's touchstone flicks were HEATHERS, REPO MAN, BEETLEJUICE, and a number that definitely don't qualify as teen flicks: BRAZIL, BUCKAROO BANZAI, RAISING ARIZONA, BLUE VELVET, SOMETHING WILD, STOP MAKING SENSE. Also, top guilty pleasure 80's flick? CRIMES OF PASSION.
My 80's touchstone flicks were Ladyhawke, Princess Bride, Return of the Jedi, and Somewhere in Time. Sensing a theme, here? I studiously avoided Brat Pack movies, and until a few years ago had only seen Breakfast Club and She's Having a Baby. I had no use for teen drama when I was a teen, and now that I'm very much not, I can't even stand Romeo and Juliet.
Hmmm... 80s movies. The biggies that I remember that haven't yet been mentioned are
Poltergeist
(scared the shit out of me and made me afraid to see ET) and
Pee Wee's Big Adventure,
which my sophomore friend Michelle and I saw like 5 times and laughed hysterically through every single time.
Wait, I'm confused. That doesn't look like Buffista Nicole. Have you been talking about a different Nicole all this time?
A friend of mine just sent me cake! In the mail! The happy knows no end.
::licks away crumbs::

You skinny little skipper. This is our Cousin!Nicole who just visited over the last weekend. She is but 18 and has been suffering the torments of uncool Sacramento. We decided she needed to come to The Island of Misfit Toys San Francisco so she could revel in her own eccentricity.
