They should film that story and show it every Christmas.

Spike's Bitches 31: We're Motivated Go-getters.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Labyrinth! How did I miss that out?

::smacks forehead::

...Xanadu is one of the most jaw-dropping things I've ever seen. Watched it last year for the first time ever. Gosh. Just - gosh.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Labyrinth

Am now earwormed.

You remind me of the babe
what babe?
The babe with the power
What power?
The power of voo-doo
Who do?
You do.
Do what?
Remind me of the babe.

I sang it all the way through the maze scene in HPGoF the movie.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Note to self: The David Bowie love is strong in Bitches. Mere mention of the song from Labyrinth and everyone passes out, unable to post, because of the love and longing for this great man in music. While everyone is passed out on the floor, I shall run off with him, spike his hair, put him in a skirt, and share metallic green eyeliner with him. MINE MINE MINE!!!

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

David Bowie is very disappointed in you.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Gronk. I slept way too late today, but it was too hot to get up and move.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Dirty Dancing is a wonderful movie. A dozen different relationships are set up and resolved (even in the case of Mrs. Houseman/Gillmore who really could have had more than those three lines). It touches on class and bigotry without being preachy. You've got emerging sexuality of the two sisters without it being purient. The girl who gets an abortion is not a big whore, she's actually a sympathetic character. -- And its wrapped in a nice sweaty package that unsuspecting hormonal people will watch a bagillion times without realizing how political it really is.

As far as Pretty in Pink, I always assumed that about eighteen months later Duckie came out of the closet.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

My 80's touchstone flicks were HEATHERS, REPO MAN, BEETLEJUICE, and a number that definitely don't qualify as teen flicks: BRAZIL, BUCKAROO BANZAI, RAISING ARIZONA, BLUE VELVET, SOMETHING WILD, STOP MAKING SENSE. Also, top guilty pleasure 80's flick? CRIMES OF PASSION.

Always Anti-fascist!

Love Dirty Dancing, but have had to tell myself to quit watching it so much. But I think Trudy's right.First time I saw Lennie Briscoe it was a trip because I felt like Dr> H. got smartmouthed. I believe it was supposed to be skeevy...that moment with Diane and her dad. But it was telling, I think, that the first time I saw it, I was almost envious of that. Because I was starting to feel estranged from my dad, and I was one of those annoying young girls who told her mom everything. It looks different when you actually have private shit.
