'Dirty Girls'

Spike's Bitches 31: We're Motivated Go-getters.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

OMG, Em looks adorable.

My greatest teaching tip? Never teach with a hangover. I did this ONCE. I generally never went out on school nights, but I stayed out WAY too late on a date and vodka took me amiss, and oh, god, just DON'T.

The frail vehicle of the English language really cannot begin to express the strength of my agreement. The morning after the Wednesday night I drank my own bodyweight in vodka (in order to muster the Dutch courage to have a crack at the karaoke - it worked, but after singing I passed out onto the bar, was poured into a taxi with my flatmate, and then fell asleep on the floor of the bathroom, where I spent the entire night, or at least the 3 hours or so of sleep that we got before having to get up and head back to work) will live in my memory for all time. Thank God I had non-contact time for a lot of the morning - having survived from 7.15 to 8.30 with the kids, I got to collapse on the carpet for a couple of hours. During that time a number of co-workers came in and backed away. And then eventually the kids came back, and I peeled myself up off the carpet again and set myself to the business of teaching once more. And, oh, how very very VERY ill I was.

shudders at the memory.

ion, I heart NUMB3RS.

I want to hug it and squeeze it and call it George. And then make out with it in the back of a car at a drive-in movie. And then take it home to meet my Mum. It is adorable.

Hey. New board.

I have so much work that I now need TWO MONITORS to do it all.

At my job, we have 9 monitors connected to 10 computers. Between two of us.

ion, I heart NUMB3RS.

I really should grab that and watch some of it before the school year. I hear I can use it in my class.

Embrace the idea that we are the leaders we've been looking for. Grace Lee Boggs

I'm so jealous. Not about the work. But I want two monitors so I can compare things, but there's not really room on my crappy desk.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Everyone should heart Numb3rs. It is a really good show. Teacup Guy doesn't watch much TV, but I can get him to watch Numb3rs with me every week.

Mostly lurking...

So, I've been surfing the net tonight, doing research on my new community. I just absolutely cannot wait to move there and get involved in stuff. It really is a community. AND, as part of the Boston Main Streets Initiative, the downtown area has FREE WiFi! How fun is that?! And, they have a yearly Trick or Treat Trot (5K in Halloween costumes!)! And, there's a church that I'm just dying to check out...seems really neat, and believes in so many of the same things that I do. I hope it'll end up being a good fit.

In conclusion, Roslindale likes carrots.

Yay! Good choice!

(And it has a very pretty girl mathematician in it, for you to wibble over! Since you probably won't be wibbling over the cute boys.)

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I've watched a few episodes of Numb3rs, but haven't really gotten into it. I've been told that I stopped watching about two episodes too soon, though, so I might give it another try. (Also, there were a few points when I had to suspend my disbelief just a tiny bit too much.)

I'm sort of starting to get used to the early mornings on this teaching job, but it helps that the program provides housing and everyone else in my townhouse is on the same schedule as I am. (Also, breakfast starts at 7:30. The kids start getting there en masse around 8. Class starts at 9. After a few days of trying to get breakfast early and trying to get it later, I discovered that I'm much better off if I wake up early and eat breakfast before the kids get there than I would be if I slept later, but ate in the cafeteria with all the kids there. Kids in the morning are LOUD.)

We're getting yet another storm here. Freaky lightning.

Cute boys are nice to look at, but I do tend to wibble more over girls. Except when I have a girlfriend. Then I actually probably wibble more over the boys.

It's a grass-is-greener thing.
