move out and draw fire

askye, what Sail said. I'm another person who has done the meds-messing-up thing out of stubbornness or weirdly misplaced pride or who knows what motive. It's totally understandable, and totally human, and, yup, self-sabotagey. Please take care of yourself. If you were diabetic, you wouldn't even consider messing arond with the blood sugar monitoring and the insulin. It'd have no moral value or character judgment attached; it'd just be what you do to keep yourself healthy and safe. And that's what this is, really; a bit of your body doesn't process something the way it should, and this is what you do to correct that so you can get on with your life (and the rest of us, selfishly, can enjoy the pleasure of your company).

Because it's true and worth repeating.

JZ, this is also inspiring me to scan some of The Little Prince. NSM with the public domain, but I think I might make a couple things for personal use.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

If you were diabetic, you wouldn't even consider messing arond with the blood sugar monitoring and the insulin.

Actually, lots of diabetics are lax about monitoring their blood sugar. One of my best friends has Type 1 diabetes (used to be called "juvenile diabetes," but since so many people have developed it as adults, the name was changed -- it's the insulin-dependent type of diabetes), and she's very very lax about monitoring her blood sugar, and it's landed her in the hospital at least once a year over the past 10 years or so.

But, diabetic slackers aside, JZ's point still stands.

Thrive to spite them

Feeling better now that I'm at work (weird isn't it). Got here and found an instant recognition on my desk. (the company has a cool program to recognize employees "instantly" for exta effort, it comes with a certificate and a gift card). My supervisor was freaked I'd gone to a job interview. I'd promised her that I'd be completely honest about applying for jobs and let her know when I was doing job interviews, etc.

We brainstormed and if I don't get this job then she's going to look into putting me back as an agency temp. Because they didn't get budget approval for making me permenent. We'll pick the best agency (with the better benefits) and then I can get a raise. No health insurance, well crappy health insurance that doesn't cover mental health, so not for me.

I know I need to take my meds and for the rest of my life (I honestly don't want to go back to the hospital) but sometimes...it's annoying.

Over all my life is looking up. I have a real space social life w/geeky people. Belly dancing is going well.

I just need to work on cultivating my relationships with online people, because I've sucked at that.

If I could jsut stop eating out all the time I'd have more money for stuff. Budgeting is hard.

What is even happening?

I think the importance of the first part outweighs the importance of the second, askye. Good for you. I'm glad your boss sounds so helpful, too.

If I only had a brain...

So, the company screwed me over, both in deed and in process.

I have just been informed that "HR has reached closure." How NICE for them. I am glad that their psychological health has not been affected by the recent unpleasantness.

Sometimes jargon is not your friend.
