Well, quite a lot of fuss. If I didn't know better, I'd think we were dangerous.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I can't even.

JSw, didn't men wear sort-of loincloths as underwear? not the chain mail kind (ouch) ....

In the medieval period, western european men are generally wearing braes, which are like linen boxers. And to address my point, they had all kinds of clothing over said undies.

My first RenFaire, I saw a woman wearing a chainmail loincloth. With no underwear. And her pubes were caught in it.

Yeah. The chainmail undies and nothing else folks seem to have mostly discovered the technology of lining the bikini/loincloth, but there are a few traditionalist holdouts.

My last RenFaire in California, saw a guy in full Aztec mufti, basically a loincloth, necklace, and unbelievable feathered headdress. Unlike Chainmail Chick, he was in great shape.

I've seen that done well a few times too. It's nice when it is done well enough and done rarely enough that it really stands out, like it would have for the medievals. Also, there's nothing like good abs to sell a minimalist costume. Sunscreen can be a good icebreaker.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Tank~ma for Tep's grandfather and dramatic-reduction-of-pain~ma for connie's husband and happy-and-carefree~ma for sj

One of DH's minions is trying to negotiate a raise. He got a 5% raise at his last review, which Dh agreed to revisit after 6 months, and it's 6 months now. DH offered another 5% (compounded). Employee is asking fro >25%. It's giving me contact stress.

The insurance company in Monterey decided I wasn't committed enough to underwriting to be a good fit. I think I am officially out of the job market for a few more months.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

I'ma just copy -t, and wish Steph's grandpa nose-ma, and efficacious and successful surgery for connie's DH, and less-irritating classmates for sj.

Hec, thanks so much for translating the highlights of Emmett's games into Tolkien-speak. Otherwise, when anybody starts speaking softball it just sounds like Miss Othmar to me.

Um. We are not pirating today. What we are doing instead is re-watching The Black Pearl to get ready for Dead Man's Chest. Arrr.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

The insurance company in Monterey decided I wasn't committed enough to underwriting to be a good fit.

Oh, bleh. I'm so sorry, -t (except that the commute from your present home to Monterey would have been deadly). I hate that bullshit. I got the same response after an interview for a legal secty. position at Oracle. WTF? It's office work, admin work, reports and spreadsheets and schedules, not something giant or noble or deliciously creative. If you're smart and qualified and you have a job history that shows a good sturdy work ethic, why the fuck should you need to show your undying commitment to this particular subspecies of paper-pushing and number-crunching? Bleah.

Tons of -ma to Steph's grandfather, and some to Steph as well for use as needed in dealing with the rest of the family. And much, much -ma to connie's DH.

I can see their point, JZ, in that they are looking to train people to be the backbone of the company. It's funny, though, since they got my resume for an actuarial position, and they were the ones to suggest that I might be a good fit for underwriting.

Whatever. I got to go to the beach after my interview.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Health-ma for all Bitches and Bitch loved ones what needs it. I am about to start on some strong antibiotics, as not only did the dentist discover two teeth which need root canals, one of them has a raging infection. Bleagh. At least that explains the dull low-level headache I've been having 24/7 the last week or so.
