Lorne: Back in Pylea they used to call me "sweet potato." Connor: Really. Lorne: Yeah, well, the exact translation was "fragrant tuber" but…

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I now need a flying spaghetti monster costume for my (forthcoming) baby. I promise to send it to JZ when he outgrows it.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Someone should organize a separate Pirate Fair, JZ.

Connie, much ~ma to your DH.

Tep, health ~ma for your grandtankfather.

Greetings from Kansas, everyone. My DH is brushing his teeth and watching the Price is Right, and then we are off to the Missouri side of things to pick up his first cousin once removed and go to the Pirate movie. I think mini-golf is in our future, too.

Have a great day!

I can't even.

A separate Pirate Fair on a BOAT.

There are pirates who come to Pennsic, the big middles ages and renaissance thing I go to north of Pittsburgh every August. They bring a boat. The pirates are pretty cool, if a bit swashy for the middle ages. JZ, do I sense that some fairly vehement sermons on giving aid and comfort to privateers might be in your future?

These kinds of "what's in and what's out" tensions are endemic to historical organizations. We won't discuss the klingons or the vampires ("There were vampires in the middle ages!" "Oookay, but why can I see them?"), but you know what people didn't wear in western europe in the middle ages? Loincloths. Even, and you'd be surprised by how many people this catches, even when they are made of chainmail.
