Well some friends of Buffy played a funny joke and they took her stuff and now she wants us to help get it back from her friends who sleep all day and have no tans.

Spike's Bitches 31: We're Motivated Go-getters.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

[Okay, I hate her a lot, but not enough for two posts]

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Bloody well done, Raq! (Although heaven knows, the prospect of you being MORE gorgeous than you already are boggles my mind.)

I have just spent at least an hour, perhaps longer, trying to get my 'phone to accept a UK simcard.

When it didn't work smoothly, I called Vodafone UK like a good little customer. And they told me to call Vodafone Egypt, my previous network. Which I did. And THEY told me to call Vodafone UK. Which I did. And they said, nope, still got to speak to Vodafone Egypt, you need them to give you the unlocking code. So I called Vodafone Egypt again. This time they left me on hold a lot. No, really. A LOT. And eventually they said that, no, they couldn't give me an unlocking code, but maybe Nokia Egypt could. At which point I called Vodafone UK again and said, look, I've been on hold to fucking CAIRO for the past twenty minutes, and do I seriously really have to phone Nokia Egypt in order to change the motherfucking Sim Card from one Vodafone network to the other. Except I was rigidly polite, in a might-crack-and-kill-people-at-any-moment-but- listen-to-me-make-jokes-in-my-dangerous-possibly- psycho-but-painfully-courteous-customer-on-the-edge voice.

They were a bit puzzled, and suggested I try texting.

I have had a weary crack, once more, at calling the ChargeYourPhone number to charge my phone with its prepaid credits, for the 5th time, and suddenly it works.

I do not know at what point in the proceedings it started to work. I do not know whether calling Egypt helped. I am just glad that I was able to multitask to the extent of being able to read Deadzone angsty NC17 threesome fanfic whilst on hold, because otherwise there would have been a bodycount.

Ahem. So, anyway - yay for having a working 'phone again.

draws deep, soothing breath. is calm. honestly.

Hey, Gud - lovely pics! Bless!

I don't know who Sandra Lee or Rachel Ray might be, but it doesn't sound like they're going to come between me and Nigella Lawson anytime soon.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

And don't even get me started on the phone calls she takes from her husband during the show, sweetly reminding the audience that "her man comes first" and how all this "effort" she's putting into her "tablescapes" is just for him. Fucking Stepford fucking bullshit.

This is also the reason I can't stand the Barefoot Contessa and her, "I cook to make sure my husband has a reason to come home". Grr.

Love Nigella Lawson.

Art Crawl!!!

Well, Nigella likes food and enjoys cooking -- that puts her above those two anyday.

(BTW, I hear she's going to be back on the Food Network.)

Always Anti-fascist!

Aw, baby fandoms make me smile. Some young girl posted *outraged* that HL did not get nominated for "House" for the Emmy. Well, that makes him as much garbage as Alyson Hannigan, SMG, Melissa Leo, Kyle Secor...the list is truly long and illustrious. And my *favorite* show is set in Baltimore...makes my head hurt, the awesome work that will not be recognized there. There is a reason why one of my icons says "An Emmy? They give those things to anybody." Don't know much about making food, but I've watched Nigella. You know, to watch Nigella. She's a babe.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

I can take if from the barefoot contessa - she seems to be from another generation - and because her husband isn't home durring the week rituals and traditions help ease the transition. If possible I do the same thing for Matt when he comes home. No'so he will come home home' but more so he remembers 'home is a different and better place'. But she has sloppy knife skills - her fingers are all over the place.

The one I have been watching lately is Healthy Appetitewith Ellie Kreiger.I have noticed that she makes much less food per person that most of the tv people. - So she sticks with what she is, a nutritionist. and her Ricotta cheesecake- easy and really good. I upped the orange rindand cinnamon ( because I always do) and used a whole blueberry sauce I had on hand.

I also like that she has videos on her site.

by the way, I am ded. too many cute kids, and one very confident young lady.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

This one. I like her. Sorry.

I like her food, would definitely buy her cookbook, I just don’t like her. She’s annoying. The EVOO thing really gets on my nerves.

It is what's her name with 'Semi- homemade' that drives me crazy. Sometimes I watch her just to see what bizzare and strange things she can do to food.

And she’s skinny! I just can’t trust a thin cook.

I don't mind it either. her recipes are good and simple, and I would be excited about making something good for my husband if I only saw him on the weekends.

I don't know. There's something about her I just don't like.

I love Barefoot Contessa -- her recipes really are simple and delicious. I got Stephen one of her cookbooks for Christmas.

All of the kid pix are just. too. cute. Lily is astoundingly beautiful. And so happy!

I can understand that he is only home on the weekends and she is excited to cook for him, it is just the implication that he wouldn't have a reason to come home if she didn't cook that bugs me.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

EK has a very horse voice and she talks a lot about the caloric contenet and nutrtional content of food. both of those can be irritating. Esp. if you know these things. ( and forget how she talks about her husband or daughter). But I have tried a couple of her receipes and they are really good. and she uses her knowledge. and she seems to like food. But I can see where she would get annoying . and DH and I are convinced that the music on her show is done by the same people that tdo the music for Barefoot Contessa. Which we can get no info about.
