The average was 77, so I scored 1 point less than the average. There was a time that a C on a stats test would have thrilled me. Now, however, I'm disappointed. I put in a lot of time doing homework and studying and I did well on the practice tests.
My stats prof way back when would go through a statistical analysis of each question in class. "Nobody got this question right, clearly it was a bad question, so I'm throwing it out." Or, "Half the class missed this one, so if you got it wrong and you can justify your answer to me, I will give it to you." And, "Hmm, 75% of the class had trouble with the bits about ____, let me go over that again...." Maybe you will get the same opportunity? It was stats for the social sciences, taught by the same prof who taught Psychological Measurement and Psych. Experimental Design. - so it made sense to me that she would suspect her own test construction as much as she would suspect our lack of knowlege.
Exam~ma for Jen.
Ailleann, job~ma, right thing happening~ma for you.
There's a Dr. Who marathon on Sci-Fi to keep me amused.
My Mythbox should be busy recording this. Shoot, I went to check but I think the IP address of my cable connection has changed. I'll have to look it up at home tonight.
Thanks for the ~ma...
Interview went decently well. It was my first phone interview, so it was a little strange at first. I sat in my car (because it seems like bad karma to sit in my office and interview for another job...), so I'm answering questions about my strengths and weaknesses while looking at trees. I was a little rocky at the start, but I think I finished pretty well. I knew two of the three interviewers from working there before.
I'll hear about a f2f interview in one to two weeks. They're looking at an ASAP start date, with no later than August 1 as a start date.
thinks about moving in a month. head explodes.
eta: because Gud pointed out that my colloquialism was, in actuality, grammatical crap...
All sorts of good luck to you, Jen.
Mal and Lily are beyond adorable. Glad the phone interview went well. And
hooray for everyone surviving Fourth festivities.
My house is oddly empty right now. I don't know whether to clean--'cause I would never do that--or dance a polka. In the nude. 'Cause I can.
Maybe you will get the same opportunity?
That would be nice. We did an assignment that was worth 10 points that is going to be applied either as extra credit or toward the test score. I got the full 10 points so I'm hoping it'll be put toward the test score, which would push me up to an 86. And that's enough of my boring-the-thread-with-my-stats talk!
ION, I'm working from home for most of the day AIFG!
I say you clean while dancing a nude polka!
Nah, cleaning + nude is good. Polka + nude is good. Cleaning + polka? Not so good. Rhumba, maybe.
I sent Emily off on the public transit where she successfully found her brother, got his apartment keys and made it to his place.
Now she's got to BART to the East Bay and take AC Transit to her interview.
Wish her transit-ma and interview-ma.
