That's beautiful. Or taken literally, incredibly gross.

Spike's Bitches 31: We're Motivated Go-getters.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Compassionately intolerant

Happies to all!

Other than that, mostly politicians ... boring.
I'm terrible with this, living within visual distance of the Capitol and all...the pols pass me on the street and I have that vague...'Wasn't that..." Can never seem to place the faces out of context. Or worse, I recognize someone I really want to give a good talking to and can scarsely think of anything coherent to say until they are well past. I suck as an activist.

Always Anti-fascist!

Happy birthday, sj! Celebrities: I saw Bill Clinton up close. Damn, he's foamy in person. Went to signings for Gloria Steinem, Garrison Keillor, and Sherman Alexie. Almost hit Cornel West with my wheelchair. Didn't place him initially, but he definitely looked like a Somebody, which, not to prove Chuck D right about us or anything, is rare enough from a black man around here as to compel my attention(Well, ok, an average-height black man with intellectual glasses.) That liberal could move fast, too. I felt terrible, but he was very nice about it.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Happy birthday, sj!

Happy anniversary, Bev & DH!

...

Yeah, that's all I got. I blame the lack of coffee.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Speaking of this, one of the things I'm Really Looking Forward To is taking my cat through airport security. That'll just be the Funnest!

Super-easy. I had no issue, but Damien was drugged up at the time. I am pro-kitty Valium all the way.

Happy birthday, sj!!!

Happy anniversary, Bev & DH!!!

I've seen Bono and the rest of U2 quite a bit, Michael Stipe and Prince William.

Plus some other very boring pop group type people.

Happy celebrations to the celebrants!

Hm, does celebrants work there? Hm.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Met: Jason Alexander, Andy Kaufman, Mark McKinney, Scott Glenn, Amanda Plummer, Gale Harold, Jake Johansen, Roger Rees, Bai Ling, Bob from Sesame Street, Jon Bon Jovi, Frank Gehry, Marc Maron, Matthew Broderick, Jeff Ross, and others I can't think of right now.

Seen: Lots.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

Returned Candace Bergen's lost purse when kid.

Amy Goodman liked my Luchen Kugel.

Had phone conversations with many political celebrities when I worked decades ago for Ian Master's Background Briefing.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Hmmm. There was that George Clinton thing I mentioned. I met Al Gore some years ago. Had dinner with Pierre Trudeau. Saw George Clooney in a bar. I think that's about it, though I guess I could add that I see the guy who won the first Apprentice every so often.

Oh, and once I kept elbowing this guy in the back while trying to dig something out of my bag in a crowded line at the airport. Turned out to be Russ Feingold. (Who was very nice about the whole thing.)

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Back in London, my dad was driving and we passed Lenny Henry on the street. This was when he was all big, and my father asked if we wanted his autograph. We were dead excited, and he turns around, stops, and engages in a long conversation with him, and comes back with the autographs.

We were so convinced he knew him, but no. I still have no idea what they talked about, but it was supremely relaxed and confident.

Unfortunately (or perhaps not--I haven't been bitten by it yet) my standard conversation starter with random celebs tends to be mixing praise with criticism of some sort. The old "I liked your set. But what's your shirt made of? It looks synthetic." sort of thing. Okay, maybe I was only that random once. But it still worked.

The absolute best was when I was trolling the comedy festival for autographs for my cousin. I was going around, completely deadpanning tales of woe, and asking for autographs. I managed to crack up Bobcat Goldthwaite by telling him I needed it for my blind cousin.
