Mal: You were dead! Tracy: Hunh? Oh. Right. Suppose I was. Hey there, Zoe.

'The Message'

Spike's Bitches 31: We're Motivated Go-getters.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

oh, and DC can be good for celebrity sightings - for me, William Devane, Clint Eastwood, Tom Cruise, Avery Brooks. Other than that, mostly politicians ... boring.

Happy Birthday, sj!

Happy Anniversary Bev & DH!

I am at work today and I can't decide if this week feels like it has two Mondays, two Fridays, or if it will feel like I'm working on a Saturday because no one will be here.

Because books.

My celeb sightings are all rather dated and boring. Mr. Hooper (of Sesame Street) signed my autograph book when I was a kid, as did the guys from (cringe) the Village People.

I once saw Donald Pleasance in a Manhattan theater.

I ate lunch next to the guy who played Jesse on All My Children in a Greenwich Village cafe.

Morgan Freeman on a NYC street, back in the late '80s (so I recognized him as Easy Reader, not as Miss Daisy's driver or anything else).

Danny Aiello in a limo, as well as Brooke Shields (not the same limo, mind you).

And all of it in New York.

Compassionately intolerant

Happies to all!

Other than that, mostly politicians ... boring.
I'm terrible with this, living within visual distance of the Capitol and all...the pols pass me on the street and I have that vague...'Wasn't that..." Can never seem to place the faces out of context. Or worse, I recognize someone I really want to give a good talking to and can scarsely think of anything coherent to say until they are well past. I suck as an activist.

Always Anti-fascist!

Happy birthday, sj! Celebrities: I saw Bill Clinton up close. Damn, he's foamy in person. Went to signings for Gloria Steinem, Garrison Keillor, and Sherman Alexie. Almost hit Cornel West with my wheelchair. Didn't place him initially, but he definitely looked like a Somebody, which, not to prove Chuck D right about us or anything, is rare enough from a black man around here as to compel my attention(Well, ok, an average-height black man with intellectual glasses.) That liberal could move fast, too. I felt terrible, but he was very nice about it.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Happy birthday, sj!

Happy anniversary, Bev & DH!

Yeah, that's all I got. I blame the lack of coffee.
