Hungry NOW. Want food.
Spike's Bitches 31: We're Motivated Go-getters.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
YAY CJ! and YAY no more radiation for Jen!
I think I'm bogarting all the fantabulousness for the day. Last night I saw Cars -- everyone should see Cars -- Pixar out did themselves. Today I was taken to lunch, it stretched out several hours, I'm leaving early to go to the DMV and finally get my replacement driver's license, which I need since I'm going out to the bars and seeing a Pirate Band. Alaskan Pete and his Salty Seamen. I will also be "waltzing" for the first time, the main drag of bars is Tennessee St and it's a tradition on birthdays (esp 21st) for people to do the Tennessee Waltz and get free drinks. However, I will be drinking responsibly and giving most of the drinks to the people.
I'm thinking about wearing one of my tiaras in celebration for my birthday.
Happy b'day Askye!
Bless Spaulding Grey's tortured heart. I saw him perform a bunch of times and would love to go to the tribute performances. Clap a little extra for me Robin.
ND and I are going to see Cars at the El Capitan tonight! I'm so glad to hear it's worth the money.
Happy birthday, askye! I say if you're going to be waltzing and getting free drinks, you definitely need the tiara.
It's from a memoir by a woman whose mom practically supported the family winning contests for housewives...Julianne Moore is probably gonna come apart in it.(I mock cause it's on my list too.) But she has been crying for work lots lately.
Crying and/or a complete breakdown is pretty much a requirement in a Julianne Moore flick, I suppose. Or maybe it just seems that way. Still, looking forward to watching it.
I re-activated my Netflix membership this week on a whim due to the people I'm always bumming movies off of not really being into documentaries or sci-fi stuff. I'm now realizing that I should've waited until August since I'm going to be too busy for a while to watch much of anything. Stupid me.
Aimee, maybe this is fates way of saying, "Get the hell out of there!" Maybe?
Weekend plans include finding a pretty summer dress, but since I hates shopping I truly do wish someone would do it for me. It needs to be cotton and have sleeves and hopefully pockets too, since I always want a place to put my hands.
If you wanted to wander up to Berkeley and check out 4th Street, April Cornell, Harper Greer, or CP Shades might have what you're looking for.
There is also (or anyhow used to be) one other place on 4th, a block or so past the main chichi shopping strip, that carries lots of cotton, linen, and floaty rayon crepe dresses at near-wholesale prices, including stuff with both sleeves and pockets, but I'm memfaulting on the name. If Sunday weren't Father's Day I'd happily meet up with you and go a-lookin'.
It is totally worth the money. I laughed so hard, plus stay through the credits. The short before it, One Man Band is also fantastic. It's one of those movies where there's plenty of stuff for kids to love plus a ton of little touches and references to please adults.
I love my OB/GYN. I had my annual checkup today, and because we were talking about IUDs in here the other day, I asked her if it was a good option for me. Because I'm almost 35 (::cough::oneweekexactly::cough::), and because of the raging heart disease in my family, I'd rather not use a hormonal form of BC that is absorbed systemically. She said it would be a great option for me -- didn't even hesitate, didn't bring up the you-haven't-had-kids-and-therefore-the-IUD-will-fall-out issue. She also said that her office will take care of finding out if my health insurance covers it, and they'll call me to let me know. I love her.
I also asked her -- because I never had before -- if she prescribes Plan B. (I figured yes, because her whole practice is very pro-choice, but since it's never been an issue for me, I had never asked if they *do* prescribe it, and I really just wanted to know, less for any hypothetical future use of mine, but more because I wanted to be sure where they stand.) She said they absolutely do, and that they always answer their pagers on the weekends (because patients, statistically, request it more often on the weekends), and they always check that the pharmacy the patient requests is a pharmacy that will dispense it without any bullshit. I love her.
It's nice to know there are still *some* places where women are actually treated like human beings and not just incubators.
happy birthday askye! Maybe I'll try to see Cars in CT tomorrow night.
NO IDEA how much easier she ismaking this.
I know exactly this feeling, and am feeling it and will feel it for another two weeks.
