Spike's Bitches 31: We're Motivated Go-getters.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
If they have to do actual work they're sunk.
I think Emmett would be that way if he wasn't in an aftercare with nothing but the children of graduate students. They all have to sit down and do their homework for 45 minutes to an hour, right at 4pm. Sooooo much better than the sad struggle at home faced doing homework when he was in second and third grade and a different aftercare.
And you know what? I've come to pick him up during the enforced homework time and it's not that burdensome on the kids. They're doing their work and huddled together and talking quietly under their voices when the counselors aren't around.
It's such a simple thing making it mandatory, and having it enforced by the aftercare. They don't resent it nearly as much as they do with parental enforcement. It's almost peer group enforced. His other aftercare had a voluntary homework thingie - but almost nobody did it.
Now we just have the wait for K-Bug's report card to come in the mail. We are expecting a 3.6 or better.
I wanna go home and look at CJ's yearbook to see a picture of crush!girl.
Did you burn yourself?
I did not! I'm not sure how as my nightgown is soaked, but my leaping away from scalding liquids instincts are apparently top notch.
Hurray for the end of radiation!
Big congrats to CJ on the great report card! Suzi, you weren't in my neck of the woods last weekend, were you? There was a big softball tournament at the park and I was tempted to wander around looking for you.
This weekend Henry is going to Las Vegas for a bachelor party. I have grand plans to do large scale cleaning and unpacking and rearranging, but I very well may spend a great deal of time watching The Wire since Netflix was kind enough to send me Season 1 Disc 1.
YAY JEN ON MORE MORE ICKY TREATMENTS!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ASKYE!
I'm all boldy and asscappy this morning, but it's a ruse. I haven't even showered yet, let alone had coffee.
Which reminds me...coffee!
No -t, we were in Hayward last weekend, Sunnyvale this weekend, Colorado the next two, then Huntington Beach, Utah, Huntington Beach, and finally either Washington or New Mexico (will know that after this weekend). That takes us through early August. Then we have a weekend off before school starts. WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
Damn, Suzi, that's a helluva schedule.
Weekend plans:
Maybe Greek food, definitely ogling Idris Elba on video (Is it wrong to rent a movie about ministers to ogle?) Deadwood, even though I'm still behind and therefore a puerile cocksucker.
Heh, I'm not going to Utah. DH is taking both kids - so I will have almost a week of quiet (just me and my mom) in the middle of all that.
My weekend? Coming in to work for a couple of hours tomorrow and then helping my daughter move into her new apartment. After that, who knows. I may shampoo my carpets. Color me thrilled.
Weekend plans: Saturday night I have to go to dinner at a friend's house and Sunday I'll likely hang with the Aunts. Nothing too big as I still need to find time to clean.
Oh! And watch movies. A co-worker just loaned me Good Night And Good Luck and The Prize Winner Of Defiance, Ohio. I'm unfamiliar with the second one but Netflix makes it sound interesting.
