You know, my job is kind of like detective work. It's kind of fun when I'm allowed to take my time. Fun and frustrating.
Spike's Bitches 31: We're Motivated Go-getters.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
That was my wedding dress. I was so thrilled I could still zip it up that I didn't even mind the restriction on how much air I could take in!
Thanks, everyone!
Happy Anniversary, Sparky & DH!!
Also, I must say, Thank-you, Epic! She sent me a sweet thank-you note for letting her crash on our couch for the F2F and she sent me the monkey from Wonderfalls! Actually, the monkeys, since they come as a pair, but I'm having trouble thinking in the plural.
Yay, you got them! I was hoping to find something to go with the "animals with books" motif you have, so I was excited to find these - with added bonus beloved-TV-show tie-in. Plus, bookends for the librarian! I probably think too much, but at least you know why it took so long before you got a thank you note!
edited 'cuz duh.
happy anniversary Sparky and DH ...
we just called some one an infant for being 36 at the cafe this am.
I did 2 out of the 4 ugly chores I had to do this week. I am about to do the 3rd and I will take care of the forth tomorrow.
I will be eating rasberries to celebrate.
If I worked more than 40 hours a week, I would die. No, really.
Hah! YES! I have far too many other things to do. I have a pull quote from a newspaper story about someone who did some kind of crafty work that involved handling very small pieces of something (honestly I don't remember at all what it was) taped above my desk that says,
"I can only do three hours' work a day because it's too hard for the eyes."
(I feel like I haven't posted here in AGES. anyway, Happy B'day JZ! Happy Anniversary Sparky! Hi Everybody)
and P-C is going to have an amazing lunch
One monkey is sitting with the gargoyle (who is reading his book) on the hearth, and the other is keeping me company here at work. I will give an automatic "A" to the first student of mine who comes in to my office, recognizes the monkey and quotes a line from Wonderfalls.
The pair actually came on Friday, but we were already on our way out of town for the weekend -- so my thanks were delayed!
Happy Anniversary to the Sparkies!
But I had a choice, and I knew how damaging that kind of workload and anxiety was, and I learned from it, and applied what I learned with how I want to live my life.
Wise, wise words, Nora. I made a similar choice several years ago and have never regretted it. I get that not everyone has this choice, but if you're lucky enough to have it, you should take it.
American culture is so work-oriented. I wish we had a little more respect for the importance of leisure; I really think that our country would be a helluva a lot less uptight if it did.
Many happy returns of the day, JZ!
Happy anniversary, Sparky and Mr. Sparky!
And, 36 can't possibly be old, because I refuse to believe that 39 is, and that's older, so there.
