Spike's Bitches 31: We're Motivated Go-getters.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

because I know there are people who work this many hours regularly.

I do, but I'm not happy about it. Between work and school, I probably average 60-70 hours per week easily. And, lately, it's more like 70-80.

I suppose what I'm really not happy about is that I do it for a job that is not a Calling. I like my job. It's fine and all that. But I don't Love it. Which is why I'm in the midst of a career change.

I've always been a hard worker, but I like to channel that energy to something I really love. When I do, I still have energy for doing social things. Unlike now when I feel as though I've been sucked dry.

love's a dream you enter though I shake and shake and shake you

I met my former seminarian in nursing school, so it was meatspace in a most visceral way.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Happy B-Day JZ!

Happy Anniversary, Sparky!

What is even happening?

I've been musing recently (well, again) that I have some online friends whom I've ended up meeting in real life, and they're good people, and they love me for reasons I cannot fathom, but I don't think I would have been friends with them if we had had to do so in meatspace.

Isn't that funny? I think it's because you get to see another side of people, get into a different corner of their heads, maybe. I don't know if it is better or worse, just different than getting to know people in the more usual way.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Oh, bleeargh. I wonder how much of my recent SAE table was out-of-date because I couldn't be arsed to double-check every individual subject in the clinical database.

What's very annoying about my job is that in most cases, if I screw up, no one will really know unless I tell them. Except I can blame the people who QA the document and say, "Dude. It was your job to catch my mistakes, and you didn't."

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Happy anniversary to the Sparkies! Also, how cool is it that we all got to see you in your gorgeous wedding dress at the Prom? Too cool for words, that's how cool.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Happy Birthday, JZ!

And Sparky, was that your wedding dress? there seemed to be a number of people wearing their wedding dresses.

You know, my job is kind of like detective work. It's kind of fun when I'm allowed to take my time. Fun and frustrating.

Librarian Warlord

That was my wedding dress. I was so thrilled I could still zip it up that I didn't even mind the restriction on how much air I could take in!

Thanks, everyone!

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

Happy Anniversary, Sparky & DH!!

Also, I must say, Thank-you, Epic! She sent me a sweet thank-you note for letting her crash on our couch for the F2F and she sent me the monkey from Wonderfalls! Actually, the monkeys, since they come as a pair, but I'm having trouble thinking in the plural.

Yay, you got them! I was hoping to find something to go with the "animals with books" motif you have, so I was excited to find these - with added bonus beloved-TV-show tie-in. Plus, bookends for the librarian! I probably think too much, but at least you know why it took so long before you got a thank you note!

edited 'cuz duh.
