That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

I have this vision where you're at some indie music store and you and this cute Indian girl both reach for the same CD. You chat her up, go for coffee, and happiness ensues. You like her, she likes you and your family likes her and gets off your back.

Maybe if I think it hard enough, it will happen.

Oooh, I like that vision. I will think it hard, too.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Speaking of jobs, P-C, has your permanent status been formalized?

The job offer should supposedly come this week. As I said before, the Chief Medical Officer has apparently heard great things about me, but I suspect he's been hearing about my document management project that's not related to medical writing. He asked me if I wanted to take a course in web design so I could optimize it further.

I'm kind of unsettled by the fact that people are saying good things about me. It's freaky. And I don't feel like I deserve it.

Aww. Think hard. It can be a library or a bookstore, too. Or a movie. Or a theatre. Or the BART. ANYWHERE.

I;ve been trying to do an lj write-up, but today was a rough day. I think the altitude finally hit everyone. We lost both games. K-Bug did not play well and had a meltdown. I ended up having a meltdown. The team dinner was cancelled because one of the girls has a peanut allergy so she can't go to Texas Roadhouse. We figured we would find a different place for a different night. A bunch of us ended up going there anyway.

Now I'm back in our room, sunburn, exhausted, and I still have to write this stupid paper. Wanna come over and do it for me???

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Awww, Suzi, give K-bug a hug and a pat for me. The altitude can really play hell with you, it always gives me headaches for a day or so.

K-Bug's errors ended up allowing the winning runs on base. Now, these ARE just practice games so far, so they don't count for anything. AND it is not like the rest of the team was able to keep the girls from scoring, K-Bug just let them get to first and second before she got pulled from the game.

Still - she is in a bad mental place when it comes to softball right now and I don't know how to help her. She has lost her confidence and her love of the game. But I know she does love the game and she is good when her head is in the right place....so frustrating.

Oh, crap. I'm sorry it was a crappy day, honey. Poor you. Poor K-Bug. Hugs and smooches to you both!

And I would *totally* do your paper for you... but you're kind of set on getting a decent grade on it, right? Might not be the best idea.

BUT - I can take you two out on the town tomorrow afternoon, if you're interested. After the sponsor meet 'n greet thingie. Work already said I can do a half day if I want.
