Spike's Bitches 31: We're Motivated Go-getters.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Only if you watch G4 tonight.

Tape it for me. I don't have cable.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I think I'm just going to push myself until I break. This will be fun.

Will Filter be on G4's website?

While the Halo2 ownage was happening, Letterman cleverly replaced the "D" in Pete's LJ userpic with an "L"...

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Tape it for me. I don't have cable.

Heh. We don't either.

Raq, I'm not sure if it is or not. They are showing one clip on there right now, but not one with Joe.

...er, no. No. You're misspelling BAD. Bad. Fun involves candy floss and balloons, or making out. Or all of the above.

...Um, so, does anyone else find that Defying Gravity breaks them into many tiny pieces of weepy mascara-covered mess? Or is that just me? I do get a bit overly engaged with things. Um. But I stand Absolutely No Chance of being able to even sing along with the song in the privacy of my living room, because it kills me ded.

Um.

Possibly I may have issues, or something. Or maybe it's just not easy being green. Um.

So, I should read Wicked at some point? Or just see the musical/get the soundtrack?

Well, I did enjoy the book, but it's very long, and although I think that the politics is quite a good thing...well, there's quite a lot of politics. 'Course, I'm a sucker for fanfic, so naturally I read it. And I'll read the sequel, Son of a Witch, at some point, and his other kidlit fanfic books too, because - fanfic. I do find the whole intertextual thing fascinating in and of itself.

I've not seen the Musical, but I suspect that it makes the narrative simpler and tighter. Plus - cool songs!

Jilli's much the same about that song.

Hmmm. Several years ago, a friend (NABBSB) wanted me to read it, but I declined. In part, I'd just read Anne Rice's Sleeping Beauty pr0n, and when "adult Wizard of Oz" was described I just didn't feel up to it. I loved the Oz books as a kid and watched the movie every year, and didn't want to see it turned into bad pr0n.

So this friend swore it wasn't like that, and went so far as to loan me his copy, but all the quotes in praise of it were by authors I don't like, so I never did read it.

Tho I did return it, which is something this friend is horrid about doing with books I lend him.
