Tara: Do you have any books on robots? Giles: Oh, yes, dozens. There's a lot of research to be done in order to--no, I'm lying. Haven't got squat. I just like watching Xander squirm.

'Get It Done'

Spike's Bitches 31: We're Motivated Go-getters.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"In the equation E = mc⬧, c⬧ is a pretty big honking number." - Scola

Then I was reprimanded for having poor control of my class.

Hsssss... Honestly, I think that's what bugged me the most. I mean, the lack of control over the class bothered me on its own, but this feeling that I've constantly got people looking over my shoulder waiting to tell me what I did wrong and what I should have done better is crushing. I think I'm better equipped now to deal with it if that conversation happens tomorrow, but right after it happened if someone had told me that I'd have burst into tears.

How are you me? You need to stop that. Only I can be me. ~Kara

Oh yeah, I hate that feeling. It will get better, and those people are likely willing to give you pointers rather than reprimand you, but it's hard at first.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Hiked a lave tube, hung with lovely people, dad now in town, racing vroomss tomorrow. Need Advil. And nap.

Cassie, I'm glad you're having a lovely time risking your life and all that, but you have RESPONSIBILITIES, Missy! You have a Canadian to keep on a track with the sheer force of your love and don't you forget it.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

That's one of the things I didn't have to worry about with my students. Whether they were straight out of 'A' school or had 10 years of fleet experience, they were all well disciplined. Still, some of them could be a little mouthy. Hence, the erasers. I think the few times I used them the students were more shocked I could actually hit what I was aiming at than that I threw them. (Hey, they usually started it. Spitballs. By 30 year-olds. I'm telling you.)

Heh. I definitely had a teacher who threw erasers (and occasionally chalk) at us. He also gave the girls better grades if they wore short skirts at least a couple times a semester. Oddly, we didn't mind--he was craaaaaazy, but generally in a cool and entertaining way. I went backpacking in Wyoming with him for a couple weeks one summer (along with my best friend, the ex-vice-principal, and two guys I didn't know).

Are you tipsy too? Because your post reads like you're tipsy too.

No, sadly! But we were a little crazy when we were planning the party, and Nick is...well, a little crazy...so somehow the pterodactyl born in a watermelon thing made PERFECT SENSE. He wore part of a watermelon rind on his head, and had a garbage bag worn as a cape. I have no idea.
