Lydia: Its removal from Burma is a felony and when triggered it has the power to melt human eyeballs. Giles: In that case I've severely underpriced it.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

That's great news, vw!

It's 91 degrees at my desk. Having decided that it's too hot to be nice and/or helpful, I've stopped answering my phone.

Mostly lurking...

It's 91 degrees at your desk? That is just SO very wrong.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

91 degrees is a very good reason not to answer the phone, also to make your employers buy you a fan.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Hec and JZ, did you hear about the return of Futurama?

Yes it is. Fortunately, I do have a little fan that keeps the air moving. I cannot, under any circumstances, figure out why there are people studying in the Main Reading Room. It's the hottest place in the building and there are numerous other options.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Hec and JZ, did you hear about the return of Futurama?

Sweet! I thought they were just going to do a couple movie-length episodes.

That's great. I thought Fox were more than usually idiotic cancelling Futurama, since it was obviously so close to The Simpsons in humor and had the same potential for infinite syndication. Shit, Fox wouldn't even exist without the billions The Simpsons made.

I wonder if it galls Matt Groening knowing that he's responsible for Fox News?
