I knew a guy in college named Bong. He was Korean-American.
In light of the global warming and USian politics, I am now fantasy-planning my move to the maritime provinces of Canada. My only qualm is uncertainly about what the Gulf Stream will do. Anyway, watch out Haligonians!
There's a hardware-type store in Minnesota called S&M Fixtures.
In San Francisco they have both a Beaver St. and a Bush St. A friend of mine was dissapointed that those two streets never meet - otherwise, you could live on the corner of Beaver and Bush....
There's a Weed, NM. You'd see people taking their picture in front of the road sign fairly frequently.
My tires are made by Kumho. I placed the order over the phone, and I wonder if the service place always gets that pause from customers after "The Kumho is an economical choice."
Remember the otherkin dating spam that was here a week or so ago?
Someone just linked to a picture of kittens (on the baaaaabyanimals livejournal) that are copyright elrick@otherkindating.com. Isn't that weird?
If that didn't happen I would have no idea what "otherkin" was. And now I am wondering if this person thinks he/she is a cat!
On the whole, I would like it to be autumn most of the year.
This. So much this. Classic New England mid-October all year would be primo (with two weeks of snow for Xmas and two months of 75-80 for summer). Hopefully, we'll get one of those this - last year, we wuz robbed!
Who's gonna write the Kumho/Michelin Man slash?
May I present Dick Bong? Who even has a museum named in his honor.
Another mystery muffin. Whatever happened to the humble cranberry? Why do I seem to be finding coconut?
When I was in 9th grade, my algebra teacher for some reason lent me a book on the life of Richard Bong. After class, he showed me the book and asked me what the two planes on the cover were (a P-38 and a Betty, IIRC). Once I had correctly identified them, he gave me the book. I'm not sure why - maybe he thought I was too quiet....
