I wish I had seen that earlier, Consuela. I would have gone. If you don't go, and want to go tomorrow, let me know.

I'm so sorry about the Beast, Suela. (But 15 is a very impressive age for a big dog, right?)
Consuela, my sympathies. Losing a pet is always hard.
'Suela, you did the responsible thing. That's the problem with being a grown up. But--you also know you did the best thing, and the rest of you will catch up with that knowledge before long.
I'm feeling a bit better now--as I go around the house straightening up, I'm finding more evidence of him vomiting in the corners. He was very uncomfortable for the last few days.
But I'm still sad.
Lee, some friends of mine are going and I'm meeting them there, so it looks like I'm going today. But the show is still going for another few weeks, and they do fun performances. It's an old WPA-era outdoor theater, with live oaks overhead and big stone steps to sit on (I bring cushions).
{{Consuela}} Everyone has already said anything I could add. It's a sad thing, even if it's the best that can be done. Our pets are so dependent on us, and they can't tell us what they're wishes are so we don't have that comfort, but I know you made the choice with love.
{{Consuela}} I'm so sorry, that was a hard choice, but a wise one. May he find many rabbits to chase and bones to gnaw, whatever it is dogs dream of.
I'm so sorry, Consuela. He was a good dog.
Suela, I'm so sorry.
