Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Also, I did realize a couple of things I needed while I was there, but I really did need those things.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

the Paper Source which is EVIL.

Ooooooh. Totally evil.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I'm very happy that the Container Store is very far from me. I have bought only one thing there, I think.

I seem to have discovered an attitude problem. A personality was clashing with mine, trying to insist things didn't have to be done by the book because he knew better. After a bit of "look, process is here for a reason--how much trouble were we in without it?" I just said "You know, experience trumps paperwork--we'll go straight ahead and do it your way despite the published process. Tell me exactly what you want me to do."

He backed right off and said I should contact the process owner. It's what I figured would happen if I looked like I was going to charge forward with his name on the banner.

Hmmph.

Now I just have to wrestle an impossible project plan (JUNE 2007??? ARE YOU INSANE) into submission, and maybe my weekend can start.

I need to remember your strategy, ita. It's a great one.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I need my weekend. Where is my weekend? Instead, I am just sitting here at my desk, and not getting jack done. I think I need to break things down into smaller tasks. Or maybe go play with the dog and watch HGTV for a while. I dunno.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Because I'm not a nice person (the attitude problem referenced above was mine) I'm considering contacting the process owner by saying "Soandso says we don't need to follow your procedure--can you verify that before we go ahead?"

But he's not answering his phone right now, so that deed remains undone.

Man, I want to go home. I have stuff planned for tonight, Saturday night and Sunday night, and I need as much nap time as possible inbetween. And I've taken Monday off too, since I don't want to pretend I have recuperative powers or anything. I just hope I make it through everything I've planned for.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

nap time is key, ita. I haven't been sleeping well, so last night I went to bed at 8:30. Well, "went to bed" as in fell asleep in Franny's bed while I was tucking her in. Oops.
