Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Kat, clearly in your case the size is the more relevant measure than the BMI. You are not overweight, you are overmuscled!

Speaking of weight/food issues, here's mine. I have a hard time these days gauging my hunger. I can't tell if I'm really hungry and should eat, or if I just haven't adjusted back down to not-nursing level of caloric intake. IN which case I shouldn't eat, right? It's weird. I've always trusted my body's hunger.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Burrell and kat I have seen with my own eyes, and though I haven't seen Jars, I shall include her in my general thought that the BMI is stooo-pid.

ION, this has been the week of money-sucking. My car's radiator cracked and has to be replaced and the dentist told me yesterday (after 3 hours in the chair) that all the stuff that needs to get done is going to be $5,000--and this is after insurance. I went for the $2,800 just-fix-the-obvious-and-we'll-do-the-rest-someday route. It'll take a year to pay off that amount, so any more is just crazy. Sadly, this means that the plans to have a fancy little party for my 50th with servers and an open bar and stuff have been scaled back to a regular old we-do-the-work little party. No matter--the BF was more into making it be all fancy than I was. I figure we'll have friends and food and merriment, so it'll be fabulous.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yikes, Robin! Maybe you can have a Fancy Party for 51...

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Dental health is more important than flash parties. It's a shame life is so, but it's true. That really sucks. But you know what? You'll have a good party anyway.

From bon's link:

Colin Ferguson is the show’s biggest asset. He’s funny, charismatic, and entirely willing to let himself look like an idiot — the latter of which may stem from his previous stint as a cast member on NBC’s ill-fated remake of Coupling.

Boy's doing okay.

My mother ran BMI numbers (in her head, possibly also including conversion to metric) for all of us, and some of the krav people too. She informs me she had a student write a paper on the limitations of BMI, and I asked her why she just hadn't taken my word for it.

I don't think the BMI is crap so much as it's misused. It's not the only number, and it's not the most important number. It's just a factor in the assessment.

Our wings are not tired.

From bon bon's link:

Battlestar Galactica, a series so ridiculously awesome, especially by SciFi’s increasingly lowered standards, that its continued presence on the channel’s lineup suggests either bribery, sudden head injuries among the network’s executives, or sudden recovery from head injuries among those same executives.

Hee. I agree with most of the review. Except I liked Allison more than he did. Not surprised he was charmed by Colin.

I just realized it's August next Tuesday! Which means I can go to the dentist! V. exciting.

I like Alison fine--I do agree with him that there's zero chemistry, though. Sufficiently zero that I didn't realise there was supposed to be any.

I really need to go to the dentist. With any luck, not $5K worth, but at least some of it will be covered by New! Exciting! Insurance!

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

I must say I agree with his assessment of Alison. OTOH, he liked the bratty kid, and honestly, please people stop with the bratty kids.
