"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Cass, walk away from the news.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Thanks Sumi!

Cass, what sj said. I know it's hard, and frustrating, but stepping away from the news is a good idea.

Socks are a running theme throughout the series. They are used as symbols of freedom, redemption and love.

Thanks for the birthday greetings. I had wedding leftovers for my birthday dinner and tons of family were there. It was fun.

Among my gifts was the DVD set of Jim Henson's Storyteller, including ones from Greek mythology that I didn't even know about! I got lots of other nice things, too.

I am very sleepy and am going to bed now. Good night. everyone! Don't let the bed bugs bite.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I'm learning how plastic bags are made, via The Science Channel. I should probably feel more awed than I am.

Our wings are not tired.

Happy belated Birthday to Ouise and Zenkitty. I hope it was much fun.

Hello Natter old friend. I've missed you.

Nilly, my thoughts and prayers are with you and yours. So scary. May cooler heads prevail.

I can't believe I am so crazed I forgot about the SG-1 premiere. Ahem, it shall be watched at some point today.

Packing, planning, preparing to drive to NY. I need to get a washer and dryer into the boat to transport them. Too much laundry to use other people's machines. My SIL gave me a washer and I had a spare dryer since I bought a new one last winter then figured out it was the electric that wasn't working, not the dryer.

Speaking of laundry. Back to it. I can't finish packing until I finish laundry.

Yes, I looked at the disturbing kitty.

eta: Hi Theodosia!

Hey, Laura! I've heard of taking your laundry with you when visiting relatives, but takign the washer and dryer, too? I think that's hard core....

Our wings are not tired.

Laundry is a big thing in our house with 3 oversized dirty boys. The notion of being at the lake for a full month without a washer and dryer was too much. Mom lives next door, and my sister a couple miles away, but I don't want to take dirty clothes with me to visit every day. Why oh why can't we just be nudists? Stupid modest boys.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Here's a laundry question. I have a t-shirt with some signatures in marker on it. Is there anything I can do to set the ink before washing it?

vanguard of the socialist Hollywood liberal homosexualist agenda

So, a funny moment for the baseball fans... a friend of mine is in San Diego for a company convention, and they were at a Padres game (apparently in a swanky box). He called me at 1am ET and woke me up to ask me what the word eephus meant. Of course, he didn't tell me he was at a baseball game at first, so I tried two dictionaries before I googled and found the Eephus pitch.

brenda, I'm sorry I have no ideas to offer for your marker.
