lisah, ha! I was pretty certain, even before I clicked, exactly which boots you meant. I got the catalog last Friday and kept interrupting Hec during his late-night Venture Brothers watching to shove it under his nose, pointing to this or that craxily-priced item, and wail, "What the fuck? Whaaah?"

Though, to be perfectly honest, there was one stunningly beautiful pair of $750 boots in there. But everything else, either very pretty but not quite pretty enough to justify the bergoggling price, or else just incomprehensible like those button boots.

My basic reaction to Anthropologie is either love or hate. And after that, either sale or anaphylactic shock from full price.

I really adore these boots, even though there's no possible way I would pay practically a month's rent for, well, any item of clothing at all, let alone one that's going to be stuffed full of feet and socks and scuffing along the ground.

But these, or these, or these? A world of NO.

I'm holding out for new Fluevog boots. A Trusted Source of Mine told me that they've seen an advance copy of the fall Fluevog catalog: batwing-scalloped heels, lined in red leather, pointed toes with squared-off tips, and the boot (knee-high) comes to a point up the back of the calf.
